Composition, shape, packaging of drops

Vid-Comod eye drops are a sterile aqueous solution containing povidone (20 mg) as the active ingredient. Auxiliary components are represented by the following components:
    sodium salt of citric acid;
    caustic soda (sodium hydroxide);
    anhydrous citric acid;
    sorbitol;
    purified water.
The drug is packaged in special plastic containers (Comod system) with a volume of 10 ml. One branded pack of cardboard contains 1 container and an insert sheet, which contains detailed instructions for using the medication. The drops are produced by the German company Ursapharm Arzneimittel, GmbH.

Pharmacological qualities

The moisturizing effect of Vid-Comod eye drops is based on the substance povidone - a water-soluble polymer composed of monomeric units of N-vinylpyrrolidone. The solution has the required viscosity and is characterized by a high adhesive interaction. Thanks to these qualities, a strong moisturizing film is formed on the surface of the eye, which for a long time is not washed off by the tear fluid when blinking. Drops have not only a moisturizing effect, but also a protective one, protecting the cornea from the negative effects of external factors.
The protective film does not reduce visual acuity. The active component of the drops has some disinfecting properties and the ability to bind toxins.
The ophthalmic solution contains no preservatives, which makes it safe for eye tissues. Vid-Comod of drawers is suitable for continuous use.

Indications and contraindications for use

Moistening of the anterior part of the organ of vision (conjunctiva, cornea) is the main indication, which is indicated in the instructions for use. Most often, the organ of vision requires additional moisture in the following cases:
    wearing contact lenses of a hard or soft structure;
    long-term stress on the organ of vision (working at a computer monitor, driving a car, watching TV for a long time);
    exposure to adverse external factors (being in a smoky or dusty room, wind, cold, ultraviolet radiation, etc.).
All of these phenomena adversely affect the condition of the eyes. As a result, discomfort arises in them: dryness, itching, burning, sensation of a foreign body. Unpleasant symptoms are easily relieved with the Vid-Comod eye remedy.
Individual intolerance to the components of the ophthalmic solution is the only contraindication when drops are not suitable for therapy.

Method of application (dosage regimen, method)

Sterile solution Vid-Comod is intended only for local use, by introducing it into the conjunctivitis sac. The dosage regimen is detailed in the instructions. The standard scheme is 1-2 drops in each conjunctivitis sac up to 4 times a day. If necessary, the frequency of instillations can be increased, but not more than 10 times in essence. The dosage regimen is determined by the ophthalmologist or the patient independently, taking into account their own feelings.
There are no restrictions on the duration of use of Vid-Comod drops. If no positive effect is observed within 2 days from the start of using the drug, you must consult a doctor to establish the cause and select another remedy.
The special system Chest of drawers requires special applications. Before the first use, the bottle with drops is turned upside down and pressed several times on it. Pressing is carried out until the first drop of the drug appears on the tip of the bottle. It is necessary to carry out instillation quickly and rhythmically, pressing on the tube. Then the eyes are closed so that the ophthalmic solution is evenly distributed over the surface of the cornea. After the procedure, the bottle is closed. During instillation, contact of the dropper with the mucous membrane of the eyes and any other surfaces should be avoided.

Specific information

Side effects and cases of overdose are not officially registered. Therefore, Vid-Comod drops are allowed to be used by children, the elderly, pregnant and lactating women. This category of patients should consult a specialist before using the product. For people who wear a hard or soft contact device, instillation is carried out without removing the lens. Droplet ingredients do not damage the lenses.
The bottle has a special sticker with a column where you need to indicate the date when the drug was opened. This is necessary because Vid-Comod of drawers have a limited shelf life. The solution container is intended for individual use only, that is, only one person should use it.
If the ophthalmologist has prescribed several local ophthalmic agents, the interval between their use should be at least 30 minutes. Interaction of drops of Vid-Comod of drawers with systemic medicines does not occur.
The ophthalmic agent does not affect visual acuity, therefore, immediately after the instillation, it is allowed to get behind the wheel of a car and engage in activities that require precision and attention.

Additional information

Eye remedy Vid-Comod is dispensed from pharmacies without a prescription. The shelf life of a sealed bottle is 3 years from the date of manufacture, which is indicated by the manufacturer on the original box. After the first opening, the ophthalmic solution is suitable for use within 3 months. After this period, the medicine bottle is disposed of. Store the drug at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C (freezing is prohibited). The drug is stored in a dark place where the access of children and pets is limited.

Consumer reviews

Myopia began to progress in my son. The children's doctor prescribed hard lenses at night - the modern treatment for myopia. Lenses were never used, so there were some complications. We quickly adapted to them, but the son complained of discomfort in the morning when the lenses were removed. The attending physician said that this happens, the eyes just need to get used to. For quick adaptation, I recommended dripping Vid-Comod drops before installing the device (before bedtime) and after removing them (in the morning). Surprisingly, the drops helped immediately. Discomfort, dryness, itching in the eyes disappeared. The main advantage of the drug is an unlimited period of use and the absence of side effects. My reviews are only positive.

I work in front of a computer monitor, I do not leave it almost all day. Vision has always been 100%. I began to feel unpleasant discomfort in my eyes, as if sand had been poured into them. Then redness, itching, burning came along. I did not go to the doctor, the pharmacist advised me to try any moisturizing drops. Chose Vid-Comod of drawers (the price arranged). Read the instructions before use. It turns out they can be dripped up to 10 times a day. Only 3 times are enough for me. Immediately after instillation, I felt improvements, even began to see brighter and clearer. I have been treated with the drug for 2 weeks, the frequency has been reduced to 2 times a day. I will drip for another two weeks and cancel the drug. Hope my problem doesn't come back.

I have known the Vid-Comod of drawers for a long time. The first time an ophthalmologist prescribed it to me was when I was diagnosed with dry eye syndrome. They helped great, they moisturize the cornea very quickly and for a long time. Now I buy drops when itching in my eyes appears, which often appears due to prolonged sitting at the monitor. It's good that the drug is sold without a prescription. Recently I saw these drops from a friend. It turns out that she uses them to moisturize, as she constantly wears contact lenses. The medicine is wonderful, I highly recommend them for purchase. The price is ridiculous for such a quality German product.
