The therapeutic effect of eye drops is achieved due to the properties of the active ingredients. The features of the tool and the rules for use are described below.

Composition

The ophthalmic solution contains active ingredients and auxiliary components.
The basis is represented by:
    sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid);
    dexpanthenol.
For their better assimilation by tissues and cells of the organ of vision, the following are used in production:
    sodium dihydrate dihydrogen phosphate;
    sodium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate;
    sorbitol;
    distilled water.
The pharmacological agent is packaged in polymer bottles with a capacity of 10 ml (approximately 300 drops). The top of the container is equipped with a dropper, which facilitates the instillation procedure.

Pharmacology

The drug has a high therapeutic effect due to the properties of the active ingredients:
Sodium hyaluronate is a naturally occurring polysaccharide compound. A similar substance is found in the tissues and fluid of the eye.
Hyaluronic acid molecules bind water molecules, which ensures the retention of moisture on the mucous membrane for a long time. After the introduction of an aqueous solution of sodium hyaluronate into the eye cavity, a uniform layer is formed on the surface of the cornea, which holds the tear for a long time. The protective film is not washed off during the blinking process. The composition does not have a negative effect on visual acuity.
Another active ingredient of Hilozar-Comod, dexpanthenol, supports the properties of hyaluronic acid, providing the needs of the eye tissues for intensive regeneration.
A humid environment relieves of the unpleasant symptoms that occur when there is insufficient release of tear fluid immediately after instillation. The achieved effect lasts up to 2-4 hours.

Indications for use

Ophthalmic solution Hilozar-Comod is used as a lubricant to moisturize the eyes in the presence of discomfortable manifestations:
    burning and stabbing due to lack of tears;
    sensation of sand on the mucous membrane;
    pain syndrome characteristic of irritation.
Drops for the eyes are prescribed for complex therapy aimed at eliminating the following problems:
    corneal erosion;
    diseases of the eye and adnexa;
    dysfunction of the lacrimal department;
    conjunctival injury and other damage to the corneal tissue (in the absence of mention of a foreign body);
    subjective visual disturbances;
    pathologies that develop against the background of the negative impact of the environment and atmospheric factors.
Hilozar-Comod drops are recommended for use during the recovery period after the operation.
 Also, the drug is used in the presence of discomfort in the eyes, which occurs due to the influence of external factors:
    long stay in a room where the microclimate is controlled by air conditioners;
    cigarette smoke;
    wearing contact lenses, corrective glasses:
    work at the computer;
    driving at night

Instructions for use

The treatment regimen for each patient is determined individually, taking into account the etiology of the disease and the condition of the eye tissues.
Most often, the solution is administered three times a day, 1 drop at a time.
The medicine should be instilled into the cavity behind the lower eyelid, directing the tip of the dropper towards the outer corner of the eye.
To evenly distribute the product over the mucous membrane, it is recommended to make several blinks and circular movements with the pupil.
The absence of preservatives makes it possible to use eye drops for a long time. In any case, the duration of the course is determined by the attending physician.
Recommendations for the procedure:
    you need to start instillation with washing your hands and preparing the site (all working surfaces must be disinfected);
    remove the colored cap from the bottle;
    turn the container upside down with a dropper (for initial use, press the container to release the first drop);
    pull off the lower eyelid with the finger of your free hand;
    without touching the mucous membrane, squeeze a drop from the bottle;
    slowly close the eyelids, perform several circular movements with the pupil;
    put a colored cap on the bottle.
If the patient is wearing lenses, there is no need to remove them for instillation.

Overdose

Subject to the manufacturer's recommendations, which are set out in the annotation to the drug, there is no risk of overdose.
A systemic violation of the dose has a negative effect on the production of natural tears, therefore, it is prohibited to carry out procedures more than 10 times a day.

Restrictions on use

It is prohibited to use eye drops for therapeutic purposes if there is an allergy to the components of the composition.
The restrictions also apply to the following cases:
    various defects of the corneal epithelium;
    trauma to the corneal tissue.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

It is allowed to use Hilozar-Comod drops for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Interaction

The manufacturer does not provide information on the possibility of combining eye drops with other pharmacological products.

Side effects

During the studies, there were no cases of adverse events among the test participants.
However, negative reactions of the body are not excluded if there is an allergy to the components used in the manufacture of the drug.

    The product should be kept in a cabinet at a temperature of 5-25 °, avoiding exposure to direct sunlight.
    The shelf life of the solution closed in a container is 2 years, taking into account the date of release from production. After opening, the medicine retains its properties for 12 weeks.
    It is prohibited to use expired solution for therapeutic purposes.
