pharmachologic effect

PIKOVIT D contains 10 of the most important vitamins, as well as calcium and phosphorus.
Multi-colored lozenges with fruit flavor. Contains: 10 vitamins, calcium and phosphorus. sweeteners - mannitol, maltitol.
Pikovit D vitamins are intended for children aged 4 years, suffering from overweight, diabetes ** or caries. **
Vitamins of group B (B1, B2, B6, B12), pantothenic acid and nicotinamide are involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
Folic acid is inactive, but in the body it turns into a biologically active coenzyme - tetrahydrofolic acid, which is necessary for the biosynthesis of nucleic acids. It enhances growth and is involved in the maturation of red blood cells. Folic acid is involved in the formation and regeneration of platelets and their function.
Vitamin A is necessary for the development of epithelial cells and the synthesis of visual pigment.
Vitamin D - is involved in the metabolism of calcium and contributes to the proper mineralization of bones and teeth.
Vitamin C - accelerates the absorption of iron and is involved in many redox processes in the body.
Calcium and phosphorus - play a key role in the mineralization of bones and teeth. Calcium ions activate numerous enzymes, they are involved in regulating the tone of the heart muscle, in the transmission of nerve impulses and regulate the permeability of cell membranes.
Water-soluble vitamins (group B vitamins, vitamin C and biotin) are well absorbed in amounts that meet the daily needs of the body. Quantities exceeding tissue saturation are excreted by the kidneys and, to a lesser extent, through the gastrointestinal tract. After oral ingestion, fat-soluble vitamins A and D are well absorbed in the small intestine in the presence of fat. Higher amounts of fat-soluble vitamins accumulate in the liver and, therefore, are more toxic than water-soluble vitamins.
PIKOVIT D - vitamin and mineral tablets do not contain sugar. PIKOVIT D tablets contain sweeteners maltitol and mannitol. They do not adversely affect the teeth.
Does not contain sugar.

special instructions

Children should not be given higher doses than recommended.
Prolonged high doses can cause hypervitaminosis A and D, although the likelihood of an overdose is minimal.
If you need to simultaneously take other multivitamin-mineral complexes, consult your doctor.
Patients with diabetes can take Pikovit D shell tablets, but they must bear in mind that the daily dose contains 2.4 to 4.2 g of sugar. Each tablet in the shell contains 0.6 sugar.
Patients with diabetes can take PIKOVIT D. At the same time, it should be remembered that one pastille contains 0.9 g of maltitol, i.e. the daily dose is 3.6-6.3 g of maltitol. Insulin is necessary for maltitol metabolism, although due to slow hydrolysis and absorption in the gastrointestinal tract, the need for insulin is low.
The energy value of maltitol (10 kJ / g or 2.4 kcal / g) is less than in sucrose.

Overdose

Symptoms: Long-term use (more than 1 month) of very high doses can lead to hypervitaminosis D and A; however, the risk of overdose when taking Pikovit D is unlikely.
Prolonged intake of high doses of vitamin B6 may lead to the case of peripheral neuropathy. Mannitol and maltitol are not sufficiently absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and in high doses can lead to diarrhea and meteorism. A laxative effect develops when taking more than 60 g of maltitol (66 coated tablets) or more than 10 g of mannitol (68 coated tablets) per day.
