pharmachologic effect

Combined product containing a complex of vitamins and minerals, which are important factors of metabolic processes.
Retinol (vitamin A) is involved in the synthesis of various substances (proteins, lipids, mucopolysaccharides) and ensures the normal function of the skin, mucous membranes, as well as the organ of vision.
Colecalciferol (vitamin D3) supports the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body.
Thiamine (vitamin B1) normalizes the activity of the heart, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Riboflavin (vitamin B2) promotes the processes of tissue regeneration, incl. skin cells.
Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) helps to maintain the structure and function of bones, teeth, gums; has an effect on erythropoiesis, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) is involved in erythropoiesis, contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
B vitamins are involved in the formation of various enzymes that regulate the body's metabolism.
Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is involved in the oxidation of a number of biologically active substances, regulation of metabolism in the connective tissue, carbohydrate metabolism, blood clotting and tissue regeneration, stimulates the formation of steroid hormones, normalizes capillary permeability. Vitamin C increases the body's resistance to infections, reduces inflammatory reactions.
Folic acid (vitamin B) stimulates erythropoiesis.
Calcium is involved in bone formation, blood coagulation, transmission of nerve impulses, reduction of skeletal and smooth muscles.
Phosphorus, along with calcium, is involved in the formation of bones and teeth, and also participates in the processes of energy metabolism.

Dosage of the drug Pikovit

The drug should be taken orally. Tablets hold in the mouth until dissolved.
Children aged 4 to 6 years are recommended to take 1 tab. 4-5 times a day.
Children from 7 to 14 years old are recommended to take 1 tab. 5-7 times / day
The duration of the course of the drug is 20-30 days. A second course of the drug is possible on the recommendation of a doctor. In the absence of appetite in children, Pikovit can be given to children for 2 months.

Drug interactions

The presence of calcium in the preparation causes a delay in the absorption in the intestine of antibiotics from the tetracycline group, as well as antimicrobial agents - fluoroquinolone derivatives. It should be observed between doses of the drug at least 2 hours.
Vitamin C enhances the effect and side effects of sulfonamides (including crystalluria).
With the simultaneous use of diuretics from the group of thiazides with Pikovit, the probability of hypercalcemia increases.

Use in childhood

This dosage form is recommended to appoint children from 4 years.

The drug should be stored out of the reach of children, dry, protected from light, at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C. Shelf life - 3 years. Do not use after expiration date.

Special instructions when taking Pikovit

When applying Pikovit, the yellow staining of urine is completely harmless and is explained by the presence of riboflavin in the preparation.
It is not recommended to take Pikovit together with other preparations containing vitamins and minerals.
High doses of glycerol can cause headache, disorders of the gastrointestinal tract (diarrhea).
Pikovit contains azo dyes E124 and E110, which can cause hypersensitivity reactions with the asthmatic component. Such reactions are more common in patients with hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid.
The preparation contains 192 mg of lactose, 611 mg of sucrose, 160 mg of glucose and 134 mg of sorbitol, therefore the drug is not recommended for children with congenital intolerance to glucose and fructose, malabsorption syndromes of glucose / galactose and deficiency of sucrase / isomaltase.
