pharmachologic effect

Nimica refers to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Being a medicine of a new generation, it inhibits the synthesis of cyclooxygenase II. This enzyme is involved in the production of mediators that cause swelling, pain, inflammation. It affects both areas where there are injuries and in the spinal cord, where it blocks the passage of pain impulses.
Reduces platelet activity. It does not affect the process of phagocytosis and hemostasis. This causes the following effects on the body:
    anti-inflammatory;
    pain medication;
    antipyretic
It is noted that nimesulide reduces the production of histamine, as a result, reduces the likelihood of development and intensity of bronchospasm.
The active component is able to inhibit the synthesis of proteins involved in the destruction of tissue, cartilage collagen (for example, urokinase, metalloprotease).
Nimesulide has an antioxidant effect. Once in the body, it reduces the formation of the active form of oxygen, slows down the effect of free radicals. This happens due to a decrease in the production of myeloperoxidase.
The drug is taken orally, after entering the gastrointestinal tract is rapidly absorbed. The optimal effect occurs on average after two hours, sometimes after three hours. Absorption is slowed down if Nimica is taken simultaneously with food, however, the percentage of absorption remains unchanged - about 99%. The main action of the nimesulide metabolite is hydroxynimesulide, which is formed in the liver.
    The metabolic products of the active substance are excreted mainly in the urine (up to 70%). The balance goes with feces. Up to 98% of the drug is excreted during the day.
In the body, the active substance is not accumulated. However, if the liver fails, the metabolism of the drug fails, its concentration in the blood increases significantly. In this case, the accumulative effect can be observed. The use of the drug in severe liver pathologies can therefore be fatal.
