Composition and release form

Pancef is produced in the form of granules for the preparation of suspensions for oral administration and in pill form. The perforated aluminum blister contains 5 or 6 tablets. In a carton pack there is 1 blister (6 tablets) or 2 blisters of 5 tablets each.
    One tablet of Pancef contains the active substance cefexim - 630 mg; other substances: magnesium stearate, hypromellose, corn starch and pregelatinized, titanium dioxide, MCC, calcium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium lauryl sulfate, gelatin, macrogol 4000.
Pharmacological action: is an antibiotic and has a broad spectrum antimicrobial action.

Indications for use

Pancef according to the instructions should be prescribed for the treatment of:
    Otitis media.
    Uncomplicated urinary tract infections;
    Uncomplicated gonorrhea of ​​the cervix and urethra;
    Bacterial infections of the upper and lower respiratory tract, namely: pharyngitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, acute bronchitis and exacerbations of chronic bronchitis.

Pancef is an antibiotic from the group of cephalosporins (III generation). The active ingredient of the drug - cefixime, has a bactericidal property. It disrupts the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, which causes their death. It affects various types of microorganisms. Cefixime is resistant to the effects of β-lactamase, which are produced by most bacteria, both gram-positive and gram-negative.
The drug Pancef exhibits a high therapeutic activity against the following infectious agents:

Instructions for use Pancef

Tablets, film coated. In this dosage form, Pancef should be taken orally.
    For adults and children over 12 years old with a body weight of more than 50 kg, the daily dose is 400 mg (1 time / day or 200 mg 2 times / day). Duration of treatment is 7-10 days. With uncomplicated gonorrhea - 400 mg once.
    Children under 12 years old - 8 mg / kg of body weight 1 time / day or 4 mg / kg every 12 hours.
For infections caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, the treatment should be at least 10 days.
Granules for the preparation of suspensions for oral administration:
    Adults and adolescents over 12 years old with a body weight of more than 50 kg take 400 mg once a day, or 200 mg twice a day. For uncomplicated gonorrhea, 400 mg is used once.
    Children under 12 years old (with a body weight less than 50 mg) Pancef is prescribed at a dose of 8 mg / kg 1 time per day or 4 mg / kg 2 times per day at 12-hour intervals.
The dose used, depending on the weight of the child:
    37.5–50 kg: 15–20 ml of suspension (300–400 mg cefixime);
    25-37.5 kg: 15 ml (300 mg cefixime);
    12.5-25 kg: 10 ml (200 mg cefixime);
    6-12,5 kg: 5 ml (100 mg cefixime);
    Up to 6 kg: 2.5 ml (50 mg cefixime).
The preparation of the suspension is carried out immediately before use. Shake the vial of powder, turning it over a couple of times. Add 40 ml of boiled, cooled water in two stages, and after each, it is necessary to shake the vial until a homogeneous liquid is formed, then for 5 minutes the suspension is allowed to settle. For convenient dosing use a special measuring cap. Ready suspension, before use, must be shaken.

Contraindications

Pancef is contraindicated for use in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of this drug. The drug can not be used during pregnancy and during breastfeeding. Children’s brace are not used if they are not six months old. The drug is administered with caution to elderly patients, persons with renal insufficiency. The use of Pancef in such patients should be under the supervision of a physician.

Side effects
