Composition and release form

Clinico-pharmacological group: analgesic antipyretic. The drug is available in the following forms:

The drug contains paracetamol - non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent (non-selective). It has an analgesic and antipyretic effect. Inhibits COX-1 and COX-2 mainly in the central nervous system, affecting the centers of pain and thermoregulation. In the inflamed tissues, cellular peroxidases neutralize the effect of paracetamol on COX, which explains the almost complete absence of its anti-inflammatory effect.
It does not adversely affect the water-salt metabolism (sodium and water retention) and the gastrointestinal tract mucosa due to the lack of influence on the synthesis of prostaglandins in peripheral tissues. The possibility of the formation of methemoglobin is unlikely.

The duration of treatment is 3 days when used as a febrifuge and up to 5 days as an analgesic. If you need a longer drug intake, you should consult a doctor.

Contraindications

Efferalgan in the form of syrup and suppositories cannot be used in the following cases:
    for blood diseases;
    if the child is not yet 1 month old (syrup) and 3 months old (suppositories);
    if the kidneys and liver are impaired;
    in case of hypersensitivity of the patient to paracetamol;
    in the presence of inflammation and bleeding in the rectum (suppositories).
Efferalgan tablets are contraindicated in the case of:
