    stearic acid;
    corn starch;
    pyrogenic silicon dioxide (aerosil).
The chemical composition of the coating is a natural, hard gelatin gel based on animal protein, collagen; titanium white (E-171).

Release form

The medicine is released in the form of light-colored, matte, medium-sized capsules in a hard gelatinous mass. The content is a powdery white substance. Cell packs contain 10 capsules, in a pack there can be from 1 to 10 pieces. An alternative option is polyethylene cans with packaging of 50, 100 pieces. Urdoxa's hepatoprotective medication can be bought both in pharmacies and through online stores, which provide a delivery service. Capsules are not brought home in accordance with the law on the circulation of medicines. But the user can always receive his order at a pharmacy located near his place of residence.

Pharmachologic effect

Capsules produce several positive therapeutic effects at once, having a multifaceted effect:
    regulate increased production of bile and promote its active flow into the duodenum;
    are distinguished by cholelitholytic properties, which makes it possible to dissolve gallstones;
    reduce the amount of cholesterol in the blood and help remove it from the body;
    normalize glucose levels due to its hypoglycemic properties;
    reduce the fraction of low density lipoproteins (fats) and increase HDL;
    regulate and improve the functioning of the immune system.
There are many reviews regarding Urdoxa, both positive and negative:
    It is noted that the remedy gives a quick positive result when one of the disorders is unsatisfactory bile formation. Painful symptoms stop in just a week and a half, the bitterness in the mouth is eliminated, the usual nausea disappears.
    In case of problems with the liver, the level of bilirubin is normalized, such unpleasant manifestations as pain in the region of the organ, jaundice, flatulence are suppressed.
    Stones are effectively destroyed in urolithiasis. Large cholesterol stones dissolve within three months, painlessly excreted from the body in a natural way.
Among the disadvantages, users point to the expensive cost, deterioration of liver performance, among the side effects - hair loss, in addition, the capsules must be washed down with plenty of water, as they are sticky and stick to the walls of the throat. At the moment, the price of Urdoxa is 700 rubles (50 capsules) and 1300 rubles (100 pcs.).

Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

The presence of the ursosan activator endows Urdoxa's drug with specific activity:
    integrating into the plasma membrane of hepatic hypotocytes, and normalizing its morphological structure, the composition protects them from destructive effects;
    reduces the toxic effect of bile acids by reducing their concentration;
    increases the activity of Ca2 + -dependent alpha-protease during stagnation of bile in the liver and gallbladder;
    reduces the level of cholesterol, its production in the liver tissues, slows down the absorption of fat in the intestines and the saturation of bile with it;
    improves the solubility of cholesterol in the biliary apparatus, promotes the dissolution of gall stones of cholesterol nature;
    due to the properties of ursodeoxycholic acid, lipophilic bile acids are less absorbed into the intestine, and toxic elements are more actively removed through its emptying;
    the medicine minimizes the ability of bile to form stones, reducing its lithogenic properties;
    has a beneficial effect on the dynamics of lipase, an increase in the level of bile acids, the secretion of the pancreas and gastric juice.
Additionally, the composition of Urdoxa stimulates the normal immunological reactivity of the liver. Regarding the main component (UDCA):
    in the small intestine, the substance is absorbed by passive transfer of drugs through the membranes of enterocytes;
    in the lower part of the small intestine - through the epithelial tissues of the organ;
    the drug is able to pass through the histohematological barrier of the placenta, actively binds to plasma proteins;
    regular use of the drug leads to the fact that ursosan reaches almost half of the amount of all bile acids in the bloodstream.
In the liver, the activator is transformed into hippuric acids - conjugates with taurine and glycine, and these, in turn, enter the bile and, subsequently, are excreted with it (up to 60-70%). Some of the UDCA is broken down in the colon.

Indications for use

Due to the medicinal composition, which has diverse properties, the agent can be used not only for the treatment of liver disorders. Indications for use of Urdoxa:
    structural disorders in the liver due to long-term alcohol dependence (up to 10-12 years);
    cystic fibrosis is a systemic disease caused by a genetic predisposition with a characteristic disorder of the activity of the glands of external secretion;
    obesity liver syndrome (NASH), expressed in the accumulation of fat in hepatic hepatocytes, proliferation and inflammation of the parenchyma tissues;
    chronic ailment of the biliary tract with a concomitant inflammatory process (sclerosing cholangitis);
    cholelithiasis (cholecystolithiasis), the presence of mixed cholesterol stones;
    impaired motility of the gallbladder with stagnation of bile (biliary dyskinesia);
    acute, chronic, infectious hepatitis;
    biliary, biliary reflux gastritis - a return throw of intestinal contents into the stomach, leading to damage to its mucous tissues;
    biliary form of cirrhosis, which developed against the background of a prolonged pathological process with cholestasis and damage to the bile ducts.
Before prescribing a drug, the patient must inform the doctor about all the drugs that he has taken before and is currently using.

Contraindications

The hepatoprotective drug Urdoxa has a number of contraindications:
    "disconnected" gallbladder, unable to contract, and does not contain bile;
    decompensated cirrhosis of the liver - the last, third stage of the disease, when the activity of the organ is impossible due to multiple structural damage;
    calcified bile stones that cannot be dissolved;
    hypersensitivity of the body to the elements of the composition;
    acute conditions with cholecystitis, cholangitis;
    exacerbation of pancreatitis and its progressive stage;
    complicated forms of intestinal diseases;
    nephritis, glomerulonephritis, renal failure in the acute stage.
This dosage form is considered a contraindication for children who have not yet turned 3 years old. However, at 3-4 years old, it is still difficult for babies to swallow capsules, therefore, the agent must be used extremely carefully.

Side effects

Treatment with Urdoxa may be accompanied by some negative conditions, manifested with different frequencies:
    an increase in hepatic fermentation is possible;
    exacerbation of psoriatic rash;
    partial, reversible hair loss;
    rashes, rhinitis, lacrimation of allergic origin;
    often patients have paroxysmal pain in the area of the right hypochondrium;
    there is a violation of the stool (diarrhea or constipation);
    against the background of treatment, discomfort in the epigastric region, vomiting may appear.
Along with this, there is a risk of calcification of calculi in the gallbladder with pronounced stagnant processes.

Urdoxa - instructions for use (method and dosage)

The medicine in the form of capsules is taken orally, drinking provides a large volume of water. When diagnosing "biliary cirrhosis", the main emphasis when choosing a dosage is on the patient's body weight:
    if the patient's weight is less than 50 kg, a two-time daily intake of one capsule is prescribed;
    from 50 to 65 kg: three times a day, one piece;
    starting from 65 to 85 kg: one capsule in the morning and two at night;
    over 85 to 110 kg: one capsule - in the morning, two - for lunch and dinner;
    with a patient weight of 110 kg, two capsules three times a day.
For the treatment of reflux gastritis, you will need 1 tablet once a day. If you need to get rid of gallstones, we recommend 1-2 caps. per day (no more than 0.5 g) with or after meals. Any diseases of the liver and gallbladder, as a rule, require long-term treatment with Urdoxa. Patients with hepatitis, biliary dyskinesia, cholangitis and cystic fibrosis are prescribed dosages taking into account the individual indicators of the state of the body, and therapy lasts from four months to a year.

Overdose

Cases of severe conditions when the dose was exceeded were not detected, however, if this happens, it is necessary to use Colestriramine, which can bind bile acids. With concomitant negative manifestations, symptomatic therapy is usually prescribed.

Interaction

In a combination of a hepatoprotective agent with other drugs of complex treatment, Urdoxa manifests its effect ambiguously:
    It is undesirable to take the medicine, combining it with acid-neutralizing antacids, as well as with Colestipol, which prevents the absorption of bile and cholesterol acids, the hypocholesterolemic composition of Colestyramine - this reduces the efficiency of UDCA absorption. If these funds are nevertheless prescribed, the interval between doses should be at least two hours.
    A decrease in the therapeutic effect of Ciprofloxacin has been noted with simultaneous use.
    If hormonal contraceptives, female steroid hormones, lipid-lowering drugs (Clofibrate), aminoglycosides (Neomycin) are used, the effect of ursodeoxycholic acid, aimed at dissolving stones, decreases.
With all of the above combinations, a correctly adjusted dosage and an individual dosage regimen are important.

Storage conditions

Storage of Urdoxa medication provides for protection from daylight, lack of humidity and a temperature not exceeding + 25 ° C.

Shelf life

You can use the drug for four years, after this period, the composition loses its medicinal properties and can pose a health hazard.

Special instructions

The recommendation will give a more complete picture of the effect of the drug and help to correctly use Urdoxa capsules:
    for the purpose of dissolving calculi, the medicine is used only for cholesterol, X-ray-negative formations;
    only half the gallbladder is allowed to be filled with stones, while it should work normally;
    the action of the medication is effective only in case of patency of the bile and cystic ducts;
    the parameters of calculi should not exceed 20 mm.
When using a drug that assumes a course of more than one month, it is necessary to periodically examine the activity of the liver, passing established studies. A blood test is done at the end of the first month, and then every 90 days with long-term treatment. Every six months, the effectiveness of therapy should be determined by ultrasound examination of the bile ducts. After removing the stones, the remedy is used for another three months to get rid of small particles, and this is also done for preventive purposes. With cirrhosis at the initial stages of treatment, a worsening of the clinical picture is possible, but therapy is continued using reduced dosages. Refusal to take is justified in case of severe side effects. There is no information on the excretion of ursosan in breast milk, so the medicine is contraindicated during breastfeeding. During pregnancy, the remedy is used only when the benefits for the body of the future woman in labor significantly exceed the threat to the condition of the fetus.
