Composition and form of release

The drug is available in the form of capsules and suspensions for the preparation of solutions. Nifural in capsules looks like small (size 2 in a dosage of 200 mg and No. 0 in 100 mg) cylindrical gelatin shells, consisting of a body and a lid. They do not smell and have a uniform yellow color. Inside is a fine powder mixed with crystalline granules. Tablets are packaged in plastic packages of 7, 8, 10 or 14 units. A cardboard box may contain 1, 2 or 4 of these blisters. The composition of one capsule includes such components:
    the active substance nifuroxazide in an amount of 100 or 200 mg;
    MCC;
    corn starch;
    sucrose;
    magnesium stearate.
The protective shell of the tablet consists of titanium dioxide, iron oxide and gelatin. In addition to blisters with medicine, instructions must be contained in a cardboard package.

Pharmachologic effect

The active substance Nifural is a strong antiseptic, exhibiting its properties when it enters the human intestine. It has the ability to suppress the vital activity of such pathogenic organisms as Shigella, E. coli, Salmonella, cholera and other pathogenic vibrios, staphylococci, Campylobacter, as well as spore bacteria of the species Clostridium perfringens (pathogens of gas gangrene and food poisoning).
The drug acts on the cells of bacteria and other microorganisms, inhibiting protein synthesis and the production of pheromones that they need to maintain vital activity. In addition, its action contributes to the destruction of the protective membranes of pathogens, reduce the production of microbes toxins and other substances that poison the human body.
The use of Nifural does not lead to the emergence of drug-resistant strains of pathogenic bacteria. Cross-resistance formation with other antiseptic drugs is also not observed. However, there are pathogens that are naturally not very sensitive to the drug. These include: rod-shaped opportunistic bacteria Enterobacter cloacae, cytrobacters and Proteus indologenes. Klebsiella, Providence, Proteus mirabilis and Pseudomonas are completely resistant to nifuroxazide.
Of the characteristics of the effect of the drug, it can also be noted that it is practically not absorbed when passing through the digestive system and begins to show activity, only in the intestinal lumen. Its effectiveness is not affected by the acidity of the medium (pH) or the degree of resistance of pathogens to antibacterial agents.
This medication has no effect on the healthy microflora of the intestine and digestive tract. On the contrary, it helps to restore balance in it when infected with acute bacterial infections. In the fight against enterotropic viruses, Nifural helps to prevent the occurrence of bacterial superinfection.
    From the body, the drug is excreted by the intestines. About a fifth of it leaves the human body unchanged, the rest is converted into metabolic products.

Indications and Impact

The only indication for the use of Nifural is acute bacterial diarrhea. It should not be accompanied by high temperature, infection, intoxication and worsening of the general condition of the patient. The medication is able to have the following effects on the patient's body:
    astringent effect, due to which the elimination of loose stool occurs and dehydration stops;
    relieving pain and cramping in the abdomen, relieving discomfort and heartburn;
    preventing bloating of the intestinal walls and the accumulation of gases in them (flatulence);
    elimination of bad breath and belching, if they were caused by diarrhea;
    protection of the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract from the penetration of toxic substances.
    Since the active substance of suspensions and tablets Nifural very quickly enters the intestines and has almost no effect on other systems of the body, doctors note the rapid appearance of effects from it. Its bactericidal properties complement this, preventing the recurrence of diarrhea and diarrhea.

Patient Reviews

People suffering from diarrhea and diarrhea often used Nifural as an analogue to more expensive drugs. Of the advantages, its low price, high efficiency, safety and speed of action were noted, of the minuses that the medication can only be used with bacterial diarrhea without complications, and also its usefulness only against certain forms of bacteria, in some cases it is ineffective.

I decided to try Nifural in capsules as a cheap analogue of Enterofuril for diarrhea. The medicine acts quickly, relieves symptoms, and then they do not return. She took it herself, also gave it to children (6 and 8 years old), none of us had any adverse reactions. Now I always keep stock in the first-aid kit, the expiration date allows.

Used this drug when my daughter caught diarrhea. At the pharmacy there were pills and syrup, I bought the first because they are cheaper. Improvements in the stool were noticeable the next day, but just in case, continued the course of treatment, as indicated in the instructions. The price is low, the effect is fast, the tablet is tasteless, so the child drinks Nifural without tears and vagaries. A good drug, I recommend to everyone who has similar problems.

I caught diarrhea in the summer, at first I thought that it was ordinary food poisoning, but activated carbon and other means did not help. The pharmacy advised Nifural. I drank three tablets in three days, by the evening of the first day it became a little easier, and in the morning the disease almost completely disappeared. Inexpensive and fairly effective medicine.
