Release form and composition

Chewable tablets (mint): round, flat, with beveled edges, two-layer - one layer of white, the other pink in color with darker small inclusions; on one side are a circle and a sword, on the other - GDA250; tablets have a characteristic mint smell and taste (2, 4, 6 or 8 pcs. in blisters; in a cardboard bundle of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 blisters).

Composition of 1 tablet:
    active substances: sodium alginate - 250 mg; sodium bicarbonate - 106.5 mg; calcium carbonate - 187.5 mg;
    auxiliary components: mannitol, aspartame, macrogol 20,000, potassium acesulfame, copovidone, dye azorubine (11012), xylitol (DC), mint flavor, magnesium stearate.

Pharmacodynamics

Gaviscon Double action - a combined drug for the treatment of reflux esophagitis, including antacids (calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate) and alginate.
The mechanism of action of the drug is due to the properties of its active substances. After oral administration, Gaviscon Double action quickly reacts with the acidic contents of the stomach. Alginate promotes the formation of a gel with almost neutral acidity, which creates a protective barrier on the surface of the contents of the stomach, preventing it from being thrown back into the esophagus and causing gastroesophageal reflux. In severe cases of reflux - regurgitation, throwing the gel into the esophagus outpaces the casting of other gastric contents, which reduces irritation of the mucous membrane of the esophagus.
Antacids have an alkalizing (acid-neutralizing) effect, which is achieved by taking the minimum dose (2 tablets). Contraindications
