Rinostop is a vasoconstrictor drug for topical use.

Composition and form of release

The drug is released in the form of nasal drops of 0.05% or 0.1%. 1 ml of drops contains the active component - xylometazoline hydrochloride 0.5 mg or 1 mg, respectively.

Pharmacological action

Alpha-adrenergic agonist for topical use, decongenstant. Narrows the blood vessels of the nasal mucosa, reduces hyperemia and swelling of the nasal mucosa. Facilitates nasal breathing and restores patency of the nasal passages.
According to reviews, Rinostop drops begins to act a few minutes after its use. The effect lasts for ten hours.

Indications

According to the instructions Rinostop drops is indicated for:
    acute allergic rhinitis;
    acute respiratory infections accompanied by a runny nose;

Rinostop drops is also used to facilitate rhinoscopy.

Dosage and administration

According to the instructions Rinostop drops is used intranasally. As a rule, children over six years of age and adults are prescribed nasal drops of 0.1%, 1-2 drops in each nasal passage three times a day.
Children from two to six years old are prescribed nasal drops of 0.05%, 1-2 drops in each nasal passage twice a day.
According to reviews, Rinostop drops should not be used more than three times a day. Therapy should not last longer than seven days. In the case of a longer use of the drug, you need to take a break for five days.


Contraindications

    severe atherosclerosis;
    hyperthyroidism;

    glaucoma
