Lasolvan MAX - expectorant, mucolytic.

Release form and composition

Dosage form of Lasolvan MAX - sustained-release capsules: hard gelatin, oblong, orange, with the symbol of the manufacturer's company (Beringer Ingelheim); the capsule cap is red and the inscription “MUC 01” is white. The contents of the capsule are yellowish-white shiny granules, a small amount of powder.
Composition 1 capsule:
    active substance: ambroxol hydrochloride - 75 mg;
    auxiliary components: crospovidone, carnauba wax, stearyl alcohol, magnesium stearate;
    capsule: gelatin, purified water, titanium dioxide, dyes - iron oxide red and yellow, ink (shellac, titanium dioxide).

Pharmacodynamics

Ambroxol has the property of increasing the secretion of the respiratory tract, enhancing the production of pulmonary surfactant and stimulating ciliary activity. Due to this, the current and transport of mucus (mucociliary clearance) are enhanced, which contributes to a better discharge of sputum and facilitates coughing.
With prolonged (at least 60 days) use of the drug in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, a significant decrease in the number and duration of exacerbations and the number of days of antibiotic therapy was noted.

Pharmacokinetics

Ambroxol is absorbed quickly and almost completely. The maximum plasma concentration after taking one capsule is reached in 6.5 hours. The relative bioavailability of the drug is 95%. Communication with plasma proteins - 90%.
When taken orally, ambroxol quickly passes from the blood into the tissues. The volume of its distribution is 552 liters. The highest concentration is observed in the lungs. 70% of the taken dose of Ambroxol is metabolized in the liver, mainly by glucuronidation and by partial cleavage. About 30% of the drug undergoes the effect of the first passage through the liver. Ambroxol is metabolized to dibromanthranilic acid mainly through the CYP3A4 isoenzyme.

Indications for use

According to the instructions, Lasolvan MAX is indicated for the treatment of the following diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by the separation of viscous sputum:
    pneumonia;
    acute and chronic bronchitis;
    chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
    bronchiectatic disease;
    bronchial asthma, accompanied by difficult discharge of sputum.

Contraindications

Absolute contraindications:
    age up to 18 years;
    pregnancy (I trimester) and lactation;
    increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.
Relative contraindications:
    renal failure;
    liver failure;
    pregnancy (II – III trimesters).

Max Lasolvan capsules are taken orally, regardless of food intake, whole, without opening and not chewing, with a large amount of liquid.
It is recommended to take 1 capsule of prolonged action per day.
If the symptoms of the disease persist within 4-5 days of taking the drug, it is recommended to consult a doctor.

Side effects

    gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal pain;
    skin, subcutaneous tissue and immune system: rash, urticaria, pruritus, hypersensitivity reactions, angioedema, anaphylactic reactions (including anaphylactic shock).

Overdose

With an overdose of Lasolvan MAX, side effects of the drug, such as nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, diarrhea, abdominal pain, may occur.
Recommended treatment: gastric lavage for 1-2 hours after taking the drug, symptomatic therapy.

Special instructions

There are isolated reports of cases of the development of Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis during treatment with expectorant drugs. Pregnancy and lactation

Use in childhood
