Composition
Sodium hyaluronate is the main component that gives the drug a therapeutic effect. The active substance is obtained by bacterial fermentation. 1 ml of solution accounts for 0.18% sodium hyaluronate. Auxiliary ingredients are sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium chloride. Additionally, the composition also includes:
sodium citrate;
sodium dihydrogen phosphate;
polyhexanide;
leading for injection.
Release form
Vismed Hydrogel is a transparent, colorless, odorless gel. The line of ophthalmic gels is presented in three different forms. In pharmacies, the drug can be bought not only in the traditional form (dropper bottle).
Mechanism of action
The main task of Vismed Hydrogel drops is to moisturize and protect the cornea, restore the tear film, and replenish the lack of tear fluid.
Sodium hyaluronate is a natural substance that is part of the connective, nervous, epithelial tissues. The compound is present in the structures of the organ of vision, in particular in the vitreous body. The effect of this natural polysaccharide is similar to that of the pre-corneal tear film. The drug has the following properties:
protective;
anti-inflammatory;
antiseptic;
regenerating.
Elasticity remains an important physical property of the polysaccharide, which makes it possible to retain and bind fluid on the surface of the organ of vision. This ensures complete enveloping of the retina with gel, moisturizing and eliminating dry eyes. The formed protective film does not cause any discomfort, protects the organ of vision from external stimuli for a long time.
Indications
Dry eye syndrome is the main indication for the use of Vismed Hydrogel eye drops, which is indicated in the instructions. The drug is used in the presence of damage to the anterior septum of the eyes, caused by the following conditions:
Keratitis is an inflammation of the cornea of the eye, manifested mainly by its clouding, ulceration, pain, redness of the eye.
Sjogren's syndrome is a systemic autoimmune disease related to connective tissue diseases. It is characterized by damage to many secreting glands, mainly salivary and lacrimal.
Corneal dystrophy and erosion, foreign body sensation, discomfort when wearing contact lenses, trauma and eye burns are additional indications for which drops are used in complex therapy. Vismed Hydrogel is often used before or after preparation for surgery to prevent inflammation.
Contraindications
Allergy to the components of the medication is the main and only contraindication to use. If the patient has a sensitivity to the components, the ophthalmologist selects a substitute with a similar pharmacological action.
There are no restrictions on the use of Vismed Hydrogel in childhood, during pregnancy and lactation.

Reviews
Tatiana, 22 years old
To be honest, I thought that I had already tried all the ophthalmic remedies to eliminate discomfort in the eyes. The ophthalmologist makes a helpless gesture, they say, everything has already been tried. When I refuse assistive devices, my vision deteriorates. The doctor said that even if it doesn't help, you still need to constantly use some eye drops. Vismed Hydrogel recommended. The gel is well tolerated by me. The droplet is of a rather thick gel consistency, so for some time, not for long, slight discomfort is felt. It passes quickly. I personally have no burning or pinching. I recommend!
