Composition and form of release

Ophthalmic agent in the form of eye drops Defislez is a slightly opalescent or transparent liquid. The main active ingredient of the product is hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose). Additionally, the composition includes the following substances:
    benzalkonium chloride;
    water for injections;
    disodium phosphate;
    sodium chloride;
    sodium hydrogen phosphate;
    disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid.
The drops Defislez are poured into 5 and 10 ml vials.

Pharmachologic effect

Drops belong to the group of corneal epithelium protectors. They protect and moisturize the surface of the cornea while reducing the natural production of tear secretions. The drug has a high viscosity, and therefore, the exposure time of the drug to the cornea increases. The refractive index of the product is the same as that of natural tears.
After using ophthalmic drops, pain in the eyes is reduced, as well as the feeling of discomfort.
These symptoms usually disappear within the first 2 to 4 days of use. Expressed relief or complete disappearance of discomfort occurs after 2 - 3 weeks of treatment with drops.

Indications for use

Healing drops are prescribed for inflammatory processes or damage to the cornea. The drug is effective in the presence of:
    thermal, chemical burns of the cornea, conjunctiva;
    lagophthalmos;
    defects (deformation) of the eyelids;
    keratectomy;
    corneal dystrophy;
    trophic ulcers of the cornea;
    corneal erosion;
    increased eye sensitivity;
    when carrying out replacement therapy associated with a decrease in the production of tear fluid;
    microtrauma of the membrane of the cornea.
Drops Defislez can be used in complex therapy for the treatment of Sjogren's syndrome (dry eye), xerosis, keratosis, as well as after operations - keratoplasty, keratoectomy, eyelid plastic surgery. The drug is used after performing diagnostic studies such as gonioscopy, echobiometric examination of the eyeball, electroretinography, electrooculography.

Contraindications, drug interactions

Defislez drops cannot be used in conjunction with ophthalmic agents that contain metal salts. There are no data on interactions with other drugs. If it is necessary to use several ophthalmic agents at once, then the time interval between instillations should be on average 20 minutes so that the next drug does not wash out the previous one. If an ointment for the eyes is prescribed in the complex treatment, then it is laid last after the instillation of liquid forms.
The use of Defislez is limited in case of intolerance to the components that are part of the drops, and it is also forbidden to use them in the acute period of a corneal burn and children under 8 years of age. There are no data on the use during gestation and breastfeeding. No harmful effects on the fetus and the mother's body have been identified either. Despite this, experts do not recommend using drops during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Instructions for use

To drip drops, you need to slightly pull the lower eyelid with your finger and drip the required number of drops into the conjunctival sac (under the lower eyelid). In order for the product to be better distributed over the surface of the eye, you need to blink quickly several times or close your eyes and make a few circular eye movements. If a person wears lenses, then they must be removed before instillation and put on after 20 to 25 minutes. Also, before use, it is advisable to warm the bottle with drops in your palms, but you cannot put them on heating devices.
Ophthalmic drops are instilled into the conjunctival sac from 4 to 8 times a day in the amount of 1 to 2 drops.
According to the doctor's prescription, it is allowed to repeat the procedure every hour. Duration of treatment is 2 to 3 weeks. The exact dosage and duration is determined by the ophthalmologist, depending on the reason for the appointment of the drops.

Side effects, overdose

Side effects are extremely rare and more often it is an allergic reaction, a feeling of sticking of the eyelids after instillation, associated with the viscosity of the drug. Overdose when using Dehisliasis eye drops is unlikely.

Special instructions

It is not recommended to use the product longer than indicated in the instructions. During the period of treatment, it is not advisable to use soft contact lenses, since the composition contains a component that can change their color. When wearing hard (rigid) lenses, they must be removed before each instillation and put on again after 25 minutes.
Do not touch the dispenser of the bottle to eyelashes, eyelids, or touch it with your hands. After instillation, fogging or a temporary decrease in vision clarity is possible. This fact must be taken into account when driving or working with mechanisms. It is necessary to get behind the wheel or start work requiring clear vision not earlier than 20 minutes after instillation.

Shelf life

The ophthalmic solution is stored in a place protected from children and sunlight at a temperature not exceeding 25⁰C. Drops must not be frozen. The preservation period of the medicinal properties of Defislez drops is 2 years from the date of release of the drug, which is indicated on the package. After its expiration, the product must be disposed of.

Reviews about Defislez

Alexandra, 27 years old
I sit at the computer for a very long time, I can sit down at 8 am and leave the computer only in the evening. Besides that, I read a lot, and most often at night. Therefore, all this was reflected in my eyes. At first, the eyes began to periodically redden, then itching and dryness appeared in the eyes, sometimes there was a feeling as if sand had got into the eyes. I went to an ophthalmologist, he recommended Defislez. I dripped it for almost 3 weeks, and was satisfied. All unpleasant sensations in the eyes disappeared after a week, but I applied it anyway as prescribed for 3 weeks.

I have been wearing contact lenses since the age of 23, and have never had any unpleasant sensations. But before the session I had to read and write a lot, sometimes I could sit all night at a book. After 4 days of such exercises, the eyes began to itch and there was a feeling of dryness in the eyes. Periodically I took off my lenses, but it didn't make it any easier. The ophthalmologist prescribed Defislez, said that they moisturize the surface of the eye and protect it from external factors. After application, I was satisfied, the drops did an excellent job with my problems.

I have been using Defislez drops for 2 years. The first time I was prescribed it when there was corneal erosion, then they were recommended to me to drip after the study - electroretinography. Also, I use these drops when conjunctivitis appears or if my eyes start to ache, itch after working at the computer, they help me a lot.
