The medicine irreversibly destroys metabolic processes in helminths: it reduces glycogen stores, disrupts glucose utilization, reduces the rate of cell tubulin and ATP synthesis.
According to the instructions, Vermox is almost not absorbed by the organs of the gastrointestinal tract. The half-life of the drug ranges from 2.5 to 5.5 hours. The drug is 90 percent bound to plasma proteins. The active component of drugs is distributed unevenly in organs, accumulates in the liver, adipose tissue and the larvae of worms. Metabolization occurs in the liver to 2-amino derivatives. Most of the drug (more than 90 percent) is excreted along with feces in unchanged form. About 5-10% of the drug - the part that is absorbed into the body - is excreted in the urine.

Reviews

We picked up some reviews of people about Vermox:
Andrew
Good remedy. But only to use according to the prescription of an infectious diseases physician and according to analyzes (helminth-high reactivity, for example). Garlic, onion and lemon do not remove these parasites, especially vodka and alcohol. These are reasonable creatures. Only need a drug approach.
Zhenya
My husband and I rested in the Crimea, ate fruit all day at sea and were not always well washed, and it was not always possible to wash my hands. We did not have time to come home, felt discomfort in the body and itching in the anus. Turning to a specialist, we found a disease of unwashed hands - enterobiosis. The doctor recommended the drug Vermox. According to the instructions, we drank a single pill once and on the next day all our troubles were gone. We will drink the second pill in two weeks to consolidate a positive result.
Julia
My daughter is 3.5 years old, and recently I take her to kindergarten. She began to notice that in the evenings she did not sleep well, was restless and tugging at her pants from her pajamas, and the next day, after going to the pot, she discovered white worms in the feces of pinworms! They ran to the pediatrician, she calmed us down, discharged Vermox, said she would definitely drink not one pill, but repeat it in another two weeks and get tested. So we did. Daughter's sleep improved, and a repeated analysis showed the absence of parasites.
Reviews Vermox for children in most cases positive. Appointed to children from 2 years. Parents noted that in the process of treatment, improvement was quickly coming: allergic reactions completely disappeared, abdominal pains stopped immediately, the work of the gastrointestinal tract was normalized. The criteria for the effectiveness of treatment is the disappearance of the clinical symptoms and the negative result of the research - feces (for ascariasis) and scraping (for enterobiasis).
Negative reviews are associated with the presence of adverse reactions that are rare: a disorder of stool and abdominal pain. Remember that this drug should be prescribed to children by the doctor after the examination, it is obligatory to take chelators during the treatment and timely empty the bowels.
