How to apply magnesium B6?

Since this trace element slowly accumulates in the body, it is necessary to use B6 magnesium for at least two months in a row - provided that the patient is under 40 years old and does not suffer from chronic diseases. Patients over 40 or those with chronic pathology need to take medicine for at least six months. If the need to use magnesium is caused by neurological disorders or depression that have appeared, you need to use Magne B6 for at least a year in a row. With osteoporosis, the use of magnesium B6 becomes lifelong.

Magnesium B6 and cardiovascular diseases

Magnesium deficiency in nutrition increases the likelihood of arterial hypertension. The appointment of patients with hypertension of magnesium B6 in the dosage (in terms of ions) 240-960 mg per day led to a decrease in systolic pressure by an average of 18.7 mm. Hg Art., diastolic - 10.9 mm. Hg Art.
Residents of regions with "soft" water, with a reduced content of trace elements, often develop myocardial infarction and sudden coronary death. Inside the myocardial cells of patients who died of cardiovascular disease, the magnesium content is halved compared with healthy people.
Adding magnesium at a dosage of 100 mg / day. 8% reduces the likelihood of ischemic stroke.
Taking Magne B6 significantly slows down the development of atherosclerosis, even in people who do not follow the diet. 15 years after the correction of magnesium deficiency became a public matter in Finland and a special program was introduced, the number of myocardial infarctions was halved.

Magnesium B6 and pregnancy

You can find out the likelihood of a magnesium deficiency during pregnancy using the following test:
If necessary, to fill the deficit, the daily dose for pregnant women is 10-15 mg of magnesium per kg of body weight per day. Reception of magnesium B6 during pregnancy reduces the likelihood of threatened abortion, the occurrence of premature birth and the birth of children with reduced weight.
In pregnant women with hypertonicity of the uterus, taking B6 magnesium, tonus normalization occurred after 2 weeks of administration.
In pregnant women with arterial hypertension who took Magne B6, the frequency of gestosis was 3 times lower than in the control group, the frequency of using antihypertensive drugs decreased 4 times, the frequency of pyelonephritis decreased 6 times. These women in childbirth did not experience fetal hypoxia and, on average, the Apgar score for newborns was, on average, higher than in the control group.

Magnesium B6 and children

The age at which magnesium B6 can be used is limited to the release form of Magne B6. It is believed that for children under 6 years old it is difficult to take pills, therefore the tablet form is allowed only for children over this age. To use the solution for oral administration can be from 1 year old, with a body weight of a child over 10 kg. Depending on the weight and need, it is applied from 1 to 3 ampoules per day (5-10 mg of magnesium per kg of weight per day, in one ampoule - 100 mg).
A sufficient amount of magnesium in the body increases the child's adaptive abilities during stress caused by entering a kindergarten, school, or a change in the children's team.
In children with ADHD, medication during the month reduced the level of anxiety, aggression, and improved concentration.

Pharmacotherapeutic group

Mineral supplements. Other minerals. Magnesium preparations. The combination of various magnesium salts

Pharmacokinetics of Magne B6

Impaired absorption of magnesium salts in the gastrointestinal tract affects, among other things, the passive mechanism by which the solubility of salt is a determining factor. Absorption of magnesium salts from the gastrointestinal tract does not exceed 50%. They can be excreted mainly from the urine.
Pharmacodynamics Magne B6 is predominantly an intracellular cation. It reduces the excitability of neurons and neuromuscular conduction and is involved in many enzymatic processes. Magnesium is an indispensable component of the body, half the amount of magnesium reserves in the body is in the bone tissue.
Clinical data: serum magnesium levels
    between 12 and 17 mg / l (1 - 1.4 mEq / l or 0.5 - 0.7 mmol / l) indicate moderate magnesium deficiency
    below 12 mg / l (1 mEq / l or 0.5 mmol / l) indicate a severe magnesium deficiency
Magnesium deficiency can be:
primary due to congenital metabolic pathology (chronic congenital hypomagnesemia)
secondary, due to inadequate admission (prolonged malnutrition, alcoholism, exclusively parenteral nutrition), disorders of gastrointestinal absorption (chronic diarrhea, gastrointestinal fistulas, hypoparathyroidism) or excessive loss at the renal level (defect of the tubules, marked polyuria, diuretic abuse, chronic pyelonephritis , primary hyperaldosteronism, treatment with cisplatin).
Also, magnesium deficiency can be with increasing need for magnesium (with increased physical and mental stress, stress, pregnancy, the use of diuretics).
Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) as a coenzyme is involved in many metabolic processes in the body, in regulating the function of the nervous system. Promotes faster absorption of magnesium in the intestinal tract, the penetration and maintenance of its level inside the cell.

Indications for use

- Established magnesium deficiency, isolated or associated.
The combination of the following symptoms may indicate a magnesium deficiency:
- nervousness, irritability, mild anxiety, transient fatigue, slight sleep disturbances
- signs of anxiety, such as gastrointestinal spasms or heart palpitations (without any pathology of the heart)
- muscle cramps, tingling sensation in muscles

Dosage

Only for adults and children over 6 years old.
Adults: 6 to 8 tablets of Magne B6 per day, dividing them into 2-3 doses with meals.
Children: 10 - 30 mg / kg / day (0.4 - 1.2 mmol / kg / day), that is, children over 6 years old (weighing about 20 kg) take 4 - 6 tablets per day, dividing them by 2 -3 reception with meals.
Treatment should be discontinued as soon as the level of magnesium in the blood is normalized.

Mode of administration

For reception inside. Tablets should be swallowed whole with a large glass of water.

Side effects of Magne B6

- diarrhea
- abdominal pain
- skin reactions
- allergic reactions

Contraindications

- hypersensitivity to one of the components of Magne B6
- severe renal failure (creatinine clearance less than 30 ml / min)
- simultaneous reception with levodopa

Drug interactions

Contraindications

- concurrent administration with levodopa should be avoided, levodopa activity is inhibited if the administration of this drug is not combined with the administration of inhibitors of peripheral dopa-decarboxylase. Reception of any pyridoxine-containing drugs should be avoided, if inhibitors of peripheral dopa-decarboxylase are not prescribed simultaneously with levodopa.

Combinations not recommended

- Phosphate or calcium salts

These products inhibit the absorption of magnesium in the small intestine.

Combinations to be taken into account

- Orally administered tetracyclines
It is necessary to observe the interval of at least two hours between taking oral tetracycline and magnesium, since magnesium reduces the gastrointestinal absorption of tetracyclines.

special instructions

Warnings

Treatment of patients with severe deficiency should begin c intravenous drug. It is recommended for patients suffering from a violation of absorption. Before treating hypocalcemia, it is recommended to correct magnesium deficiency.
Since this preparation contains sucrose, it is contraindicated in patients with fructose intolerance, with glucose and galactose absorption disorder syndrome or with sucrase and isomaltase deficiency.

Precautionary measures

This drug is intended for adults and children over 6 years old.
There are dosage forms that are more suitable for children under 6 years old. In moderate renal failure, precautions should be taken to prevent the risk associated with hypermagnesia.

Pregnancy and lactation

If necessary, Magne B6 can be used for any period of pregnancy as prescribed by a doctor.
Each component, magnesium or vitamin B6 is individually considered compatible with lactation. Considering the limited data available, the maximum recommended dose of vitamin B6 during lactation is 20 mg / day.

Overdose

Symptoms: Overdose of Magne B6 by oral route, as a rule, does not lead to toxic reactions in patients with normal renal function. Toxic effects depend on the level of magnesium in the blood, the symptoms are as follows:
    drop in blood pressure
    nausea, vomiting
    CNS depression, impaired reflexes
    ECG abnormalities
development of respiratory depression, coma, cardiac arrest and respiratory paralysis
    anuria
Treatment: rehydration, forced diuresis. In renal insufficiency, hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis is necessary.
