Indications

Leaves of large plantain, which contain mucus, bitter substances, tannins, carotene, ascorbic acid, vitamin K, flavonoids, macro- and microelements and other biologically active substances.

Mode of application

About 10 g (2 tablespoons) of the leaves of a large plantain are placed in an enamel bowl, 200 ml (1 cup) of hot boiled water are poured, covered with a lid and heated in a boiling water bath with periodic stirring for 15 minutes, cooled at room temperature for 45 minutes, filtered, the remaining raw materials are squeezed. The volume of the resulting infusion is adjusted with boiled water to 200 ml.
The infusion is taken orally in a warm form 30 minutes after eating for 7 10 days: adults and children over 12 years old - 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day; children from 6 to 12 years old - 2 teaspoons 3 times a day; children from 3 to 6 years old - 1 teaspoon 3 times a day; children under 3 years old - 1 teaspoon 2 times a day.
Before use, it is recommended to shake the infusion.

Interactions

It should not be taken simultaneously with preparations containing codeine and other antitussive drugs, as this makes it difficult to discharge liquefied sputum.
