Composition

One tablet contains:

Pharmacokinetics

Lornoxicam is rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) after oral administration. At the same time, the maximum plasma concentration (Cmax) is reached in approximately 1-2 hours. The maxmax of lornoxicam is higher when taking the drug Xefocam Rapid than the max when taking the drug Xefocam and is equivalent to max for medicinal forms of lornoxicam intended for parenteral administration. The absolute bioavailability of Xefocam Rapid tablets is 90-100%. The average half-life is 3-4 hours.
Lornoxicam is present in plasma in unchanged form, as well as in the form of a hydroxylated metabolite, which does not possess pharmacological activity. The degree of binding to plasma proteins is 99% and does not depend on the concentration. Lornoxicam is completely metabolized, about 2/3 is excreted through the liver and 1/3 through the kidneys as an inactive compound.
Excreted in breast milk.
No significant changes in the pharmacokinetics of lornoxicam were found in the elderly and in patients with impaired liver and kidney function.

Pharmacodynamics

Lornoxicam is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs) with an effective analgesic effect. The basis of the mechanism of action of lornoxicam is the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis due to a balanced inhibition of the activity of cyclooxygenase-1 and cyclooxygenase-2 isoenzymes. In addition, lornoxicam inhibits the release of oxygen radicals from activated leukocytes.
Lornoxicam does not have an opiate-like effect on the central nervous system and therefore does not depress respiration, nor does it cause constipation and miotic effect. There is also no reason to suggest that patients may have drug dependence on lornoxicam.

Dosage and administration

Drug interactions

- Xefocam Rapid with methotrexate or cyclosporine leads to an increase in the concentration of methotrexate or cyclosporine in the blood plasma, increasing the development of side effects of the latter

Special instructions.

Gastrointestinal ulcers and bleeding in history.

Renal failure:
