Composition and release form

The medicine has a special composition. It includes very strong components that quickly begin to act during treatment. This tool includes the following substances:

The drug has several types of pharmacological activity. The high effectiveness of the Spasmalgon is due to the fact that the substances entering it exhibit synergism, that is, they mutually reinforce each other's action. The effect occurs 20 minutes after taking the medicine.
    Metamizole sodium is a substance belonging to the group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, pyrazolone derivatives. This medicinal substance has a strong analgesic (analgesic) effect, and also has anti-inflammatory and antipyretic (antipyretic) effect. The mechanism of action of this drug is to inhibit the cyclooxygenase pathway for the transformation of arachidonic acid, resulting in reduced production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins, thromboxane and prostacyclins. Metamizole sodium inhibits equally both cyclooxygenase isoforms - COX-1, COX-2. Thus, the analgesic effect of metamizole sodium, which is part of Spasmalgon, is based on the inhibition of the effect of inflammatory mediators on the end of pain receptors.
    Pitofenone hydrochloride is a myotropic antispasmodic, which has a direct effect on the smooth muscles of the internal organs, causing it to relax.
    The composition of Spasmalgon also includes a substance such as fenpiverinium bromide. It has a holinoblocking effect and has a relaxing effect on smooth muscles.
The combination of these three components in the Spasmalgon composition leads to an increase in their pharmacological properties.

Instructions for use

The drug Spasmalgon in the form of tablets is taken orally, the tablet is swallowed whole, without grinding and chewing, drinking plenty of water. If necessary, the tablet can be divided. The duration of the course of treatment and the dose of the drug is determined by the attending physician individually for each patient, depending on the nature of the disease and the individual characteristics of the patient.
    Adults and children over 15 years of age are taken orally (preferably after a meal), usually 1-2 tablets 2-3 times a day. The daily dose should not exceed 6 tablets. Reception duration no more than 5 days.
    The drug is not recommended to take more than 3 days in a row, unless your doctor has prescribed otherwise.
In children, the drug is used only on prescription:
    The dosage for children 6-8 years old is half the tablet, 9-12 years old - three quarters of the tablet, 13-15 years old - one tablet 2-3 times a day.

Contraindications for Spasmalgon

Do not use the drug in such cases:
    severe liver dysfunction;
    severe renal impairment;
    deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase;
    tachyarrhythmia;
    angle-closure glaucoma;
    benign prostatic hyperplasia with a tendency to retain urine;
    gastrointestinal obstruction and megacolon;
    diseases of the blood system;
    collaptoid states;
    I term and the last 6 weeks of pregnancy;
    lactation period (breastfeeding);
    children up to 3 months;
    hypersensitivity to the components of the drug and other pyrazolone derivatives.
The drug is prescribed with caution to patients with hay fever, bronchial asthma and allergic rhinitis, as they have an increased risk of developing hypersensitivity reactions.
The drug is prescribed with caution to patients suffering from diseases of the liver and / or kidneys, obstructive diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, gastroesophageal reflux disease, decreased bowel tone, glaucoma, paralytic ileus and diseases of the cardiovascular system.

Side effects

In the treatment of Spasmalgon such adverse reactions may occur:
    Urinary system: proteinuria, anuria, oliguria, renal dysfunction, urine staining in red, interstitial nephritis;
    Blood system: leukopenia, agranulocytosis, thrombocytopenia;
    Anticholinergic effects: decreased sweating, dry mouth, difficulty urinating, tachycardia, accommodation paresis;
    Allergic reactions: urticaria (including conjunctiva of the eyes and mucous membranes of the nasopharynx), angioedema; rarely, toxic epidermal necrolysis, anaphylactic shock, malignant exudative erythema, bronchospasm;
    Other: lower blood pressure;
    Local reactions with intramuscular injection: infiltrates at the injection site.
