Composition

1 suppository for rectal administration contains:
active ingredient: naproxen 0.075 g, caffeine 0.05 g, salicylamide 0.6 g,
excipient: base (witepsol) - sufficient amount to obtain a suppository weighing from 2.09 to 2.31 g

pharmachologic effect

Cefecon N has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects. Naproxen and salicylamide are NSAIDs whose mechanism of action is associated with the inhibition of GHG synthesis and the effect on the thermoregulation center in the hypothalamus. Caffeine has a psychostimulant, analeptic and antispasmodic effect on smooth muscles, stimulates the striated muscles, reduces platelet aggregation and releases histamine from mast cells.


Indications

Cefecon N is prescribed as an anesthetic for pain syndromes of varying severity:
    sciatica;
    toothache;
    lumbago;
    neuralgia;
    migraine, headache;
    degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the musculoskeletal system (ankylosing responses, arthritis, osteoarthrosis, osteochondrosis);
    myalgia;
    primary algomenorrhea.
As a febrifuge, it is used in febrile syndrome during infectious, inflammatory, or catarrhal diseases.

Contraindications

Cefecon H is not used in such cases:
    bleeding;
    closed angle glaucoma;
    children under 16;
    elderly people;
    liver failure;
    stomach ulcer;
    hypersensitivity;
    arterial hypertension;
    insomnia;
    duodenal ulcer;
    renal failure;
    pregnancy;
    hyperexcitability;
    diseases of the cardiovascular system;
    breast-feeding;
    bronchial obstruction;
    chronic heart failure.

Side effects of Cefecon N

As a result of taking the drug may develop such undesirable effects:
    melena, gastritis, constipation, stomatitis, vomiting, heartburn, hematemesis, esophagitis, ulcerative stomatitis, bleeding and ulcers in the gastrointestinal tract or perforation, exacerbation of Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, flatulence, pancreatitis;
    leukopenia, neutropenia, hemolytic anemia, eosinophilia, agranulocytosis;

    corneal clouding, blurred vision, swelling of the optic disc, papillitis;
    hearing impairment;
    swelling, heart failure, chest pressure, arrhythmia;
    vasculitis;
    shortness of breath, pulmonary edema, nasal congestion, eosinophilic pneumonia;
    hepatitis, increased liver enzymes, jaundice;
    polymorphic erythema, Stephen-Johnson syndrome, rash, lichen planus, photosensitivity, pustular reactions, alopecia, pruritus, lupus erythematosus, bruises, erythema nodosa, purpura, epidermal necrolysis, urticaria, sweating;
    muscle weakness, pain;
    nephrotic syndrome, frequent urination, glomerulonephritis, hematuria, renal failure, interstitial nephritis, elevated creatinine levels, necrosis of the kidney (medullary);
    female infertility;
    fever, malaise, thirst, fatigue.


Interaction

Reduces the hypotensive effect of beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors; enhances the action of anticoagulants, oral hypoglycemic agents - sulfonylurea derivatives.

How to take Cefecon N, the course of administration and dosage

According to the instructions on Cefecon N suppositories, the use of suppositories is possible only after natural bowel movement or a cleansing enema.
Per day from 1 to 3 times is assigned to 1 candle. Introduced into the rectum, the patient with about 40 minutes to spend in bed.
When used as an anesthetic, do not use for more than 5 days, as an antipyretic - not more than 3 days.

Overdose

The hypotensive effect of ACE inhibitors and beta-blockers decreases when taking Cefecon N.
When taken with sulfonylurea derivatives (oral hypoglycemic agents, anticoagulants) enhances their action.

Special instructions for Cefecon N

If itching or unpleasant sensations occur in the rectum, it is necessary to administer an enema with sunflower oil (in a volume of 1 tablespoon) and temporarily stop using Cefecon N.

Release form

Suppositories are white or white with a yellowish or creamy shade of color, torpedo-shaped. On the longitudinal section of the suppository there should be no blotches, the presence of an air core or a funnel-shaped recess is allowed.

Storage conditions

In a dry, dark place at a temperature of no higher than 20 °C.
Shelf life - 2 years.
