Eradication therapy is a special group of therapeutic measures aimed at the destruction of microorganisms that damage the gastrointestinal tract. The use of Pilobact AM is part of such a specific approach to treatment, the effectiveness of which has been proven in practice.

Dosage form and pharmacological properties

The composition of Pilobact AM is a combination of various active substances in capsules and tablets, packed in aluminum strips. Each package contains seven such strips with a unique complex of medical components, including:
    omeprazole capsules to reduce the production of stomach acid;
    amoxicillin in capsules for an antibacterial effect, is a broad-spectrum penicillin;
    clarithromycin tablets to suppress protein synthesis, an antibiotic with an active antimicrobial effect.
One blister contains substances in the following volumes: omeprazole - two 20 mg capsules, amoxicillin - 4 500 mg capsules and two clarithromycin tablets 500 mg each. In addition to each package with Pilobact AM, instructions for use are attached.

Indications for use

Pilobact AM is effective in the fight against Helicobacter bacteria and in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract as part of eradication therapy.

Dosage and administration

The contents of one aluminum strip, which includes eight substances in the form of tablets and capsules, is one daily dose, divided into morning and evening doses. Preparations in a blue blister are taken in the morning, orally, that is, they are directly swallowed during meals without chewing. The morning dose includes one capsule of omeprazole, two capsules of amoxicillin and a tablet of clarithromycin. The composition of the evening dosage includes an identical set, packed in a red blister. Thus, in the package we have seven of these sets, designed for a course of admission in one week.

Overdose and side effects

The instruction indicates the possible occurrence of unpleasant symptoms in case of violation of the dosing regimen. These may be headache, drowsiness, nausea.
There may be manifestations of allergic reactions in the form of rashes, itching, and redness of the skin. There is also some likelihood of manifestation of conditions such as depression and nervous disorders, weakness, anemia, leukopenia, disturbance of heart rhythms, hyperhidrosis, visual impairment and fever.

Contraindications

There may be increased sensitivity to the components in the composition of Pilobact AM. Conditions in which Pilobact AM is also contraindicated are pregnancy, the period of breastfeeding, the presence of diseases of the kidneys or liver, and the detection of malignant tumors in the stomach. Interactions with Alcohol and Medicines

Pilobact AM is forbidden to be taken in combination with terfenadine, pimozide and cisapride. Amoxicillin may decrease the effectiveness of oral contraceptives.
Use with caution in combination with drugs metabolized by the liver.
Omeprazole has the ability to slow down the metabolism of diazepam and phenytoin, reduces the effectiveness of ampicillin and ketoconazole. The simultaneous use together with terfenadine leads to an increase in its concentration, which helps to enhance its effect.
You should also remember about contraindications for driving a car and other vehicles during the period of taking the drug, as it reduces the reaction rate and causes drowsiness.

Storage conditions

Store Pilobact AM in a place with limited access for children, the temperature in which does not exceed 25 degrees Celsius. The shelf life of the drug is 2 years. It is not recommended to use after the expiration date indicated on the package has expired.
