Linex drops instruction for use

You can buy Linex drops here

Linex drops for children is a dietary supplement of the group of eubiotics (probiotics), designed specifically for children in the form of a powder packaged in convenient sachets (1.5 g each) in the amount of 10 pcs or 20 pcs in one package, or in the form of drops in a bottle of 8 ml.
Regardless of the form of release of the drug, the main active ingredient is lyophilized (specially dried) bifidobacteria Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis. For ease of dosage in powder form, they are mixed with maltodextrin, which is a product of incomplete hydrolysis (splitting) of potato or corn starch, slightly sweet in taste, safe for the child and approved for use even in mixtures for baby food.
Linex for children in the form of drops, in addition to bifidobacteria, contains:
    sunflower oil;
    antioxidants (DL alpha-tocopherol, citric acid, sodium ascorbate);
    sucrose;
    maltodextrin.
    Important! Linex for children in powder form, unlike Linex for children in drops, contains only one auxiliary substance - maltodextrin, therefore it is safer from the point of view of the occurrence of individual intolerance to the components.
Both are biologically active additives and therefore are sold over the counter. The shelf life of Linex for children in the form of a powder is two years when closed or four months after opening, in the form of drops - two years when closed or 28 days after opening.

Indications for use

Bifidobacteria enter the intestines of the newborn along with breast milk. Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis is the safest and most proven strain of bifidobacteria, which penetrate the body, normalize the intestinal microflora and create the optimal environment for the functioning of digestive enzymes. Also, immunity, resistance to infectious diseases are increased, the risk of atopic dermatitis and food allergy is reduced.
For newborns and older children, the drug is prescribed for the following indications:
    prevention of diarrhea (loose stools) of an acute infectious nature;
    containing the spread of rotavirus infection;
    prevention of microflora disturbance during and after taking antibiotics;
    elimination of functional disorders caused by a violation of microflora (colic, constipation, flatulence, diarrhea);
    strengthening immunity (reducing the incidence of acute respiratory viral infections);
    prevention of atopic dermatitis.
If these indications are absent, then taking Linex drops may also be useful in the presence of so-called risk factors, which include:
    childbirth by caesarean section, premature birth;
    problems with the health of the child during the neonatal period;
    lack of attachment to the chest in the first hours after childbirth;
    early transition to artificial feeding;
    immaturity of intestinal motor function;
    the period of the introduction of complementary foods or the termination of breastfeeding;
    teething;
    stresses, including those associated with weaning from the breast or from a pacifier, a change of place of residence;
    frequent SARS.

Instructions for use

As mentioned above, the drug can be given to children from birth. The course usually consists of thirty days, but as prescribed by a doctor, it can be shortened or extended. When taking Children's Linex drops, it is very important to consider the following nuances.
    The drug in powder is always taken immediately after opening the bag. Drops and powder are given exclusively during meals, thoroughly stirring in water, compote, juice, milk or tea.
    The liquid intended for dilution should only be warm, and in no case hot. A temperature of more than 35 degrees destroys beneficial bacteria.
    If the child is taking antibiotics, then drops Linex should be given three hours after taking the medicine. In any case, this nuance requires consultation with a doctor.
    Also, consulting a specialist for taking drops Linex is necessary if the child has a high temperature, loose stool with mucus and dehydration.
If the baby is breastfed, then the drug should be stirred in the mother’s milk. If the baby switched to another diet, then the drug can be diluted in absolutely any liquid that the child drinks. The main thing is to keep it warm.
