Eslidin is a drug with a hepatoprotective effect.

Release form and composition

Dosage form of release - capsules: hard gelatin, light brown body, brown cap, size No. 0; the capsules contain a homogeneous brown / yellow-brown mass from a greasy to a denser consistency, which has a characteristic odor (10 or 15 pieces in blisters, in a cardboard box 2-6, 9 or 10 packs; 30, 50, 60 or 100 pcs. in glass / polymer jars, in a cardboard box 1 can).
Active ingredients in 1 capsule:
    lipoid PPL-400 (polyunsaturated phospholipids from soy lecithin) - 300 mg;
    methionine - 100 mg.
Auxiliary components:
    capsule contents: soybean oil - up to 550 mg;
    capsule shell: titanium dioxide, black, red and yellow iron oxide, gelatin, purified water.

Pharmacodynamics

Eslidin is one of the combined drugs with a hepatoprotective effect that normalizes all types of metabolism (protein, fat, carbohydrate).
Component properties:
    methionine: an essential amino acid that is a source of mobile methyl groups. It is necessary for the neutralization of xenobiotics, the synthesis of choline. An increase in its content leads to an increase in the synthesis of internal (endogenous) phospholipids and a decrease in the deposition of neutral fat in the liver. In patients with atherosclerosis, it increases the concentration of blood phospholipids and lowers the concentration of cholesterol. Methionine also takes part in the exchange of sulfur-containing amino acids, in the synthesis of creatinine, epinephrine and other biologically active compounds, transforms the action of proteins, hormones, enzymes, vitamins (B12, folic and ascorbic acids), participates in decarboxylation, deamination, and peremethylation reactions;
    essential phospholipids: essential factors necessary for the development and functioning of liver cells. Their main fraction is phosphatidylcholine (73%). It is the main component of biological membranes. When it enters the body, phosphatidylcholine helps to restore the integrity of the membranes of the affected liver cells, and also activates phospholipid-dependent enzymes located in the membrane, while the permeability of liver cells is normalized and their excretory and detoxification potential is enhanced.
The active substances enhance the action of each other, as a result of which the functional state of the liver cells improves.
Eslidin helps to restore liver function, increase its detoxification capacity, as well as normalize fat, protein and carbohydrate metabolism in the body.

Indications for use

Eslidin is prescribed in dermatology, gastroenterology, cardiology and neurology in the presence of the following indications:
    toxic liver damage (narcotic, alcoholic, medicinal);
    fatty degeneration of the liver of various origins;
    cirrhosis of the liver;
    chronic / acute hepatitis (the exception is viral);
    functional disorder of hepatocytes (with complications against the background of other diseases);
    dystrophy, exhaustion;
    pre- and postoperative periods with interventions in the hepatobiliary zone;
    psoriasis (along with other drugs);
    atherosclerosis of the vessels of the brain (simultaneously with other drugs);
    diabetes mellitus (concurrently with other drugs);
    atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries (concurrently with other drugs).

Contraindications

Absolute:
    viral hepatitis;
    severe hepatic impairment, hepatic encephalopathy;
    age up to 3 years;
    hypersensitivity to drug components.
Relative (Eslidin is prescribed under medical supervision):
    pregnancy and the period of breastfeeding;
    age 3-7 years;
    renal failure.

Instructions for the use of Eslidin: method and dosage

Eslidin is taken orally, preferably with meals. The capsules are swallowed whole with sufficient water.
The recommended single dose (with a frequency of administration 3 times a day):
    children from 7 years old and adults: 2 capsules;
    children 3–7 years old: 1 capsule.
Average course duration:
    liver diseases, atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries and cerebral vessels, diabetes mellitus, degeneration and exhaustion: 1-3 months;
    psoriasis: 2 weeks.

Side effects

Allergic reactions can be a side effect.

Overdose

The main symptoms are: decreased blood pressure, disorientation, increased heart rate.
Therapy: symptomatic.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

According to the instructions, Eslidin is not prescribed during pregnancy / breastfeeding.

Pediatric use

    children under 3 years of age: therapy is contraindicated;
    children 3–7 years old: the drug is prescribed with caution.

With impaired renal function

Since there is a possibility of an increase in hyperazotemia, Eslidin in renal failure should be used with caution.

For violations of liver function

Therapy is contraindicated in the presence of viral hepatitis, severe hepatic failure, and hepatic encephalopathy.

Drug interactions

There are no data on the interaction of Eslidin with other drugs / substances.
