The active components of Umkalor have a pronounced antimicrobial and antiviral effect, increase the nonspecific resistance of the body and have mucolytic properties.
The composition of Umkalor includes an extract of the root of Pelargonium sidoides (Pelargonium sidiform). The main active substances of this South African plant are flavonols, coumarins and some organic acids that have activity against:
    Gram-negative bacteria, including Klebsiella pneumoniae, Hemophilus influenzae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabillis, E. coli;
    Gram-positive bacteria, including Streptococcus (pneumoniae and haemolitic) and Staphylococcus aureus;
    The microorganism strain Mycobacterlum tuberculosis.
The active components of Umkalor according to the instructions affect the immune system and activate both specific and non-specific immunity. The effect of the drug is manifested in the form:
    Protection of cells and tissues from damage in infectious diseases;
    Strengthening the vascular walls;
    Excretion of radionuclides and metabolic products from the body;
    Stabilization of the intercellular substance of connective tissue;
    Improving the regenerative functions of tissues after illness.
Umkalor has a cytoprotective effect, which is important in the treatment of infectious diseases. In addition, the drug has a mucolytic effect, affecting the mucous secretion of the bronchi, namely:

Release form

Indications

In the treatment of acute and chronic diseases of the ENT organs, Umkalor is prescribed for treatment according to the instructions:
    Sinusitis, including sphenoiditis, sinusitis, ethmoiditis, frontal sinusitis;
    Rhinopharyngitis;
    Sore throats, including catarrhal;
    Otitis.


Contraindications

The use of Umkalor is contraindicated in the following cases:
    In severe diseases of the liver and kidneys;
    During pregnancy;
    With a predisposition to bleeding;
    In pediatrics, up to one year;
    During breastfeeding;
    With hypersensitivity to the components of Umkalor.

Method of application

Umkalor according to the instructions is recommended to be taken before meals (preferably half an hour) with a small amount of water.
Children (from 12 years old) and adults are usually prescribed 20-30 drops of the solution three times a day. For children 6-12 years old, a single dosage should not exceed 20 drops of Umkalor, 1-6 years - ten drops with a frequency of administration three times a day.
As a rule, the average duration of a course of therapy does not exceed ten days. To prevent relapse after treatment carried out by Umkalor, it is recommended to continue using the medicine for a few more days after the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease.
