Pharmacodynamics

Sinuforte is a herbal preparation used for inflammatory diseases of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. The mechanism of its action is due to the effect on the trigeminal nerve receptors located in the middle nasal passage. Due to this effect, reflex secretion in the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses is caused. As a result of hypersecretion, the rheological properties of the secret change, and its viscosity normalizes.
Sinuforte also has a decongestant effect, which in combination with reflex hypersecretion leads to the release of secretions from the sinuses into the nasopharynx. This provides simultaneous drainage of all sinuses.
The drug restores mucociliary transport and enhances blood microcirculation in the paranasal sinuses and nasal cavity. The improvement in microcirculation is due to vasodilation of the vessels that supply the glands.
Hypersecretion in the form of serous-mucous secretions occurs a few minutes after the use of the drug and lasts 30-120 minutes, which depends on the individual characteristics of the patient.

Pharmacokinetics

The therapeutic effect of Sinuforte is due to the effects of the components that make up cyclamen. To date, the most studied of them are triterpene saponins.
Pharmacokinetic parameters of the drug have not been studied, since these components and their metabolites cannot be traced using markers or appropriate bioassays.
