The composition of the nasal agent includes a hypertonic solution of sea water, enriched with minerals. It promotes liquefaction and evacuation of nasal secretions from the sinuses and nasal passages. The spray is used in otolaryngology for the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases, in particular sinusitis, eustachitis, hay fever, etc.

Form of production and biochemical composition

Marimer Forte is a clear saline solution without a specific odor. The liquid contains a hypertonic solution of sea salt, in which the concentration of sodium chloride is 2.2%.
The solution is poured into aluminum cans with a capacity of 100 ml. In addition, they are equipped with nebulizers for more convenient injection of drug suspension into the nasopharynx. The package contains one spray can and instructions for using the decongestant spray.

Therapeutic properties

The nasal preparation has a decongestant, disinfectant and wound healing effect on the ciliated epithelium. The hypertonic solution contained in it reduces the viscosity of the nasal secretion, due to which its excretion from the nasal canals is accelerated.
The microdiffuse spray system ensures the penetration of drug suspension not only into the nasal cavity, but also into the sinuses. This provides almost 100% purification of the entire nasopharynx from pathological secretions, dust particles and allergens.
Regular irrigation of the upper respiratory tract with a spray leads to increased local immunity. In this regard, the risk of developing infectious pathologies, especially nasopharyngitis, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, etc., is reduced.
Hypertonic solution has decongestant and disinfectant properties. The use of a spray during a runny nose helps to reduce swelling in the nasal canals and choanas, so normal nasal breathing is restored.

Indications for use

Marimer Forte is used in the treatment of respiratory infections in adults and children from the age of 1 year. Indications for the appointment of a nasal spray are:
    vasomotor runny nose;
    bacterial rhinitis;
    sinusitis;
    rhinopharyngitis;
    hay fever;
    persistent rhinitis;
    nasopharyngeal hygiene;
    prevention of inflammation;
    ethmoiditis;
    sphenoiditis.
A decongestant can be used to prevent diseases after rhinoscopy and surgery. It is also recommended to perform rinsing with nasal congestion and the need for other nasal medications.

Dosage and Usage Algorithm

Marimer Forte is intended only for intranasal administration. The optimal dose of hypertonic solution for children is 1 injection into each nasal canal 3-4 times a day. With an exacerbation of respiratory infections in adults, the frequency of use of the spray is increased to 5-6 times a day.
During irrigation of the nasopharynx, it is advisable to observe the following rules:
    go to the sink and tilt your head to the right (left);
    insert a spray into the upper nasal canal;
    pressing the dispenser, do 2-3 injections;
    tilt your head to the other side and repeat the procedure;
    remove nasal secretions and remnants of the spray with a napkin;
    wash the sprayer in a soapy solution and dry.
If necessary, the dosage (the number of spray injections) is increased. The duration of the course of treatment depends on the dynamics of the disease and averages 5-7 days.

Pregnancy and lactation

The components of the spray Marimer Forte do not affect the fetal development of the fetus and are not excreted in breast milk. Therefore, the instruction does not prohibit the use of Marimer Forte during gestation and lactation.

Drug Interactions

It is undesirable to combine a nasal agent with other decongestant drops and aerosols, as this can lead to dehydration of the nasal mucosa and the formation of dry crusts in the nasal passages.

Alcohol compatibility

The use of alcohol-containing drinks does not affect the pharmacological properties of Marimer Forte.

Overdose

In medical practice, there is no information about cases of overdose of nasal spray. Theoretically, too frequent use of hypertonic solution can lead to inhibition of the secretory function of goblet cells and, as a result, dehydration of the ciliated epithelium.

Side effects

With hypersensitivity to the components of Marimer Forte, the development of allergic reactions is possible, namely:
    itching and burning in the nasopharynx;
    swelling
    nasal congestion;
    lacrimation.
To prevent more serious complications, it is recommended to replace the nasal spray with other decongestants and disinfectants.

Contraindications

The main contraindications to the appointment of a hypertonic spray Marimer Forte are:
    hypersensitivity to the components;
    age up to 1 year;
    bronchial asthma;
    mechanical damage to the nasal mucosa.
Do not use the medication during periods of asthma, as penetration of drug suspension into the lower airways can lead to bronchospasm.

Storage conditions

It is recommended to store the spray can with the solution away from fire at a temperature of 10-25 degrees Celsius. Its shelf life from the date of issue is 36 months.
