Pharmachologic effect

The active substance of Curantil is dipyridamole, the action of which is responsible for the antiplatelet (prevents thrombus formation), vasodilating (dilates blood vessels) and immunomodulatory properties of the drug.
The use of the drug allows you to expand the vessels of the heart, increase the speed and volume of blood flow, and improve the supply of oxygen to the myocardium. The drug prevents the formation of blood clots, which makes the drug effective in many cardiovascular diseases.
The use of the drug during pregnancy is associated with the ability of the drug to prevent blockage of blood vessels in the placenta, which avoids many severe complications associated with hypoxia (lack of oxygen) of the fetus.
The immunomodulatory effect of the drug is expressed in the ability of the drug to stimulate the synthesis of interferon and increase its activity, which is of great importance in the prevention and treatment of viral diseases, including influenza.
The maximum concentration of the drug is observed one hour after taking its oral forms.

Indications for use

Contraindications

Curantil, the use assumes a preliminary acquaintance with the instructions, is not prescribed for:
    unstable angina;

Instructions for the use of Curantil

Curantil 25 are dragees containing 25 mg of dipyridamole. Coated tablets are represented by the preparations Curantil 25 and Curantil 75, the numbers in the name of which correspond to the amount of active substance in them. The drug is taken on an empty stomach, without grinding, with water. The doses recommended by the instructions for Curantil are designed for adults and children over 12 years of age.
In case of ischemic heart disease of the drug Curantil, the instruction recommends taking 75 mg 3 times a day. If necessary, the daily dose can be adjusted upward by the doctor. Cerebral circulation disorders involve the use of Curantil 3-6 times a day, 75 mg, while the daily dose should not exceed 450 mg. In order to reduce platelet aggregation, 75-225 mg of the drug is usually prescribed per day, if necessary, the daily dose of Curantil can be increased to 600 mg.
Curantil 25 and Curantil 75 are recommended to be taken for the prevention of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza according to the following scheme: for 4-5 weeks, once a week, take 2 tablets or 2 tablets at a time. The prevention of recurrence of viral infections, including ARVI, involves taking Curantil 25 and Curantil 75 in accordance with the scheme: for 8-10 weeks, once a week, take 2 units of the drug twice a day with an interval of 2 hours between doses.

You should know that drinking tea or coffee reduces the effectiveness of the drug, while acetylsalicylic acid, on the contrary, enhances the effect of the drug.

Side effects

The undesirable effects of Curantil reviews and clinical studies include:
    tachycardia, palpitations, bradycardia, decreased blood pressure, flushing of the skin of the face, flushing of the face;
    diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, epigastric pain;
