You can buy Flixonase here

Flixonase is a glucocorticosteroid medication used intranasally.
It has a suppressive effect on the production of proinflammatory mediators, exhibits inhibitory qualities against eosinophils, lymphocytes, macrophages, neutrophils and mast cells. It has a pronounced antihistamine, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effect. The antiallergic effect lasts for 2–3 hours from the moment of the first use.
The spray helps to cope with most of the symptoms of respiratory allergies, such as sneezing, itching, nasal congestion, discomfort in the paranasal sinuses, and pressure sensations. In addition, Flixonase relieves allergic manifestations in the eye area.

Composition and release form

Flixonase is produced in the form of a nasal spray dosed: an opaque white suspension, free from the presence of foreign particles (60 or 120 doses in dark glass bottles, 1 bottle in a cardboard bundle complete with an adapter and a dosing device).
The composition of 1 dose spray includes:
    Active ingredient: fluticasone propionate (micronized) - 0.05 mg;
    Auxiliary components: anhydrous dextrose, microcrystalline cellulose, microcrystalline carboxymethylcellulose, phenylethyl alcohol, benzalkonium chloride solution, polysorbate 80, diluted hydrochloric acid, purified water.

Pharmacological effect

Flixonase is a well-known glucocorticosteroid agent that inhibits the production of biologically active substances and anti-inflammatory mediators. This medicine has anti-allergic, anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory effects on the nasal mucosa. It lowers the proliferation of neutrophils, macrophages, eosinophils, lymphocytes and mast cells.
Anti-inflammatory effect of Flixonase is due to the interaction of the drug with glucocorticosteroid receptors. The drug has a pronounced and rapid anti-inflammatory effect. Antiallergic results appear two to four hours after the first use. Flixonase relieves the symptoms of allergies in the nasal cavity - nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing, itching, pressure, discomfort, and the like.
The drug removes allergic symptoms in the eye area. Reduction of symptoms or its elimination after a single application lasts about 24 hours. When properly used, the drug does not inhibit the adrenal system and does not have a systemic effect.

Flixonase is prescribed for year-round or seasonal allergic rhinitis (for treatment and prevention).

Contraindications for Flixonase

Do not prescribe the drug for:
    hypersensitivity to it;

Terms of use of the drug

Before use, you should gently shake the bottle, take it, placing the index and middle fingers on both sides of the tip, and the thumb under the bottom.
At the first use of the drug or a break in its use for more than 1 week, the condition of the sprayer should be checked: send the tip away from you, make several presses until a small cloud emerges from the tip. Next, you need to clear your nose (blow your nose). Close one nostril and insert the tip into the other nostril. Tilt your head slightly forward while continuing to hold the bottle vertically. Then you should begin to inhale through the nose and, while continuing to inhale, press once with your fingers to dispense the preparation. Exhale through the mouth. Repeat the procedure for the second spraying in the same nostril, if necessary. Then completely repeat the procedure described by inserting the tip into the other nostril. After use, blot the tip with a clean cloth or handkerchief and cover it with a cap.
Rinse the sprayer at least 1 time per week. To do this, carefully remove the tip and rinse it in warm water. Shake off excess water and leave to dry in a warm place. Avoid overheating. Then carefully set the tip back to its original place at the top of the vial. Wear protective cap.
If the hole of the tip is clogged, the tip should be removed as described above and left for some time in warm water. Then rinse under running cold water, dry and put on the bottle again. Do not clean the tip opening with a pin or other sharp objects.

Adverse reactions

Usually, the spray is very well tolerated by patients, but in individuals with increased individual sensitivity to the components of Flixonase, side effects may develop:
    bleeding from the nose;
    burning and itching in the nose;
    dry nasal mucous membranes;
    sneezing;
    perforation of the nasal septum;
    bronchospasm;
    headaches;
    violation of smell.

Overdose

Cases of overdose in the treatment of fliksonaza not identified. With long-term use of high doses, adrenal gland function depression is possible. Their performance is restored within a few days after drug withdrawal.

special instructions

For adults and children from 12 years of age: Flixonase nasal spray should not be used for more than 3 months. If necessary, use of the drug for more than 3 months is necessary to consult a doctor.
For children from 4 to 12 years old: do not use Flixonase nasal spray for more than 2 months. If necessary, the use of the drug for more than 2 months is necessary to consult a doctor. With prolonged use requires regular monitoring of the function of the adrenal cortex.
    Infections of the nasal cavity or paranasal sinuses require appropriate treatment, but are not a contraindication to the use of the nasal spray Flixonase.
    In most patients, fluticasone propionate nasal spray eliminates the symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis, but in some cases, with very high concentrations of allergens in the air, additional therapy may be needed.
    Additional treatment may be needed to relieve symptoms of the eye on the background of successful therapy for seasonal allergic rhinitis.
    To achieve the maximum therapeutic effect, it is necessary to adhere to a regular regimen of application.
    Care must be taken when transferring patients from systemic corticosteroids to fluticasone propionate in the form of a nasal spray, especially if there is a dysfunction of the adrenal glands with regular monitoring.
    Flixonase, nasal water spray contains benzalkonium chloride, which can cause bronchospasm.
    In case of contact with patients with chicken pox, measles and in case of changes in the view, it is recommended to stop treatment and consult a doctor.
    There are reports of the manifestation of systemic effects when using nasal GCS, especially in high doses for a long time. These effects are much less likely than ingestion. Systemic effects when using nasal corticosteroids can occur, in particular, when used in high doses for a long time. The likelihood of these effects is much lower than when taking oral corticosteroids, and they can vary in individual patients and between different corticosteroid preparations.
    Possible systemic effects may include Itsenko-Cushing syndrome, characteristic signs of cushingoid, suppression of adrenal function, stunting in children and adolescents, cataracts, glaucoma, and more rarely a number of psychological or behavioral effects, including psychomotor hyperactivity, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, or aggressiveness (in features in children).
    In children receiving therapy with certain intranasal GCS in the allowed doses, growth retardation was observed. It is recommended to regularly monitor the growth of children receiving long-term treatment with intranasal GCS. When growth is slowed down, treatment should be reviewed to reduce the dose of intranasal GCS, if possible, to the minimum dose that maintains effective symptom control and consult a pediatrician.
    Simultaneous use of ritonavir and fluticasone propionate should be avoided unless the potential benefit to the patient exceeds the possible risk of developing systemic side effects of corticosteroids.
    It is recommended to stop taking the drug and consult a doctor if there is no improvement within 4 days. Consultation with a physician is also necessary if the patient has new symptoms, such as severe facial pain, thick nasal discharge, which may indicate an infection and are not associated with allergies.
    Infections of the nasal cavity or paranasal sinuses require appropriate treatment, but are not a contraindication to the use of the nasal spray Flixonase.

Compatibility with other drugs

The plasma concentration of fluticasone propionate in the blood after the use of Flixonase is insignificant, therefore the development of a clinically significant interaction with other drugs / substances is unlikely.
When used in combination with ritonavir, the plasma concentration of the active substance in the blood can increase significantly, which can cause the development of adverse reactions caused by the systemic action of corticosteroids, including Cushing syndrome and suppression of the function of the adrenal cortex.

    And about 8 years ago my doctors made a diagnosis - chronic rhinitis, and he wanted to do any cauterization of the cauterization. But one remarkable doctor advised to undergo a course of treatment - the first 2 weeks, 2 times a day, 2 injections in each nostril, 2 times a day, another 2 weeks, 1 injection, 1 time a day. And with each use of the medication, drink the Claritin pill. Subsequently use within 5 days in case of illness. It's all over.

    My husband has a spring pollinosis for several years. So that in May he doesn’t suffer much, we are doing preparatory work in March for an allergist scheme. The main drug of this preparation is Flixonase. The husband does not always take the pills, so the help of the spray is obvious. My husband's itchy nose disappears, the swelling of the face and mucous membranes decreases, his eyes stop crying. We carry out prevention for 5 years. Every year the manifestations of allergies are becoming weaker.

    During the flowering of various herbs, runny nose and stuffy nose just do not allow me to breathe. I have been looking for a drug for a long time, which will really help me to ease, so to speak, my sufferings. Found Flixonase, nose struck with a bang. The drug is worth the money. In case of allergy exacerbation, I squirt 2 times, and then turn to one injection. It helps me so much. Doctor Lor I wrote it out. In general, there is a lot of work for the lors now, due to the fact that allergies have become very common in our population. It is a pity that only anti-allergy drugs are not getting cheaper.
