Composition and form of release
The product is available in the form of a solution for oral administration of various concentrations (Elkar 20% and Elkar 30%) in dark glass bottles (100, 50 and 25 ml) or plastic (25 ml), as well as in the form of a solution for iv and / m introduction.
    Five milliliters of a 20% oral solution contains 1 gram of levocarnitine (vitamin BT).

What is Elkar used for?

Elkar - a drug for the correction of metabolic processes, normalizes protein and fat metabolism, increases the secretion and enzymatic activity of gastric and intestinal juices, improves the absorption of food, reduces excess body weight and reduces muscle fat content. Increases resistance to physical stress, inhibits the formation of keto acids and anaerobic glycolysis, reduces the degree of lactic acidosis, contributes to the economical use of glycogen and increases its reserves in the liver and muscles.
    L-carnitine is a natural substance related to group B vitamins. It participates in metabolic processes as a carrier of fatty acids (including palmitic) through cell membranes from the cytoplasm to mitochondria, where these acids undergo a process of b-oxidation with the formation of ATP and acetyl CoA.
Elkar has an anabolic and lipolytic effect, normalizes the increased main metabolism in hyperthyroidism, being a partial thyroxine antagonist.
Instructions for use
For those who use Elkar, the instructions for use report that the dosage and duration of treatment depend on the type and severity of the disease, but, as a rule, are:
    250 mg (1/4 tsp) 2-3 times a day with hyperthyroidism and stunted growth. Treatment is carried out for 20 days, after which they take a break for 1-2 months and repeat the course, or take Elkar solution for 3 months without a break;
    2 g (2 tsp) twice a day with anorexia nervosa syndrome, in the period after surgery and serious illness. The course of treatment is 1-2 months;
    1 g twice a day in the treatment of skin diseases. The duration of treatment is 2-4 weeks;
    0.5-1 g once a day with brain damage. Duration of use is 3-5 days. Repeat the course of treatment if necessary after two weeks;
    500 mg (0.5 tsp) twice a day in order to stimulate appetite in patients with chronic gastritis occurring against a background of decreased secretory function, and chronic pancreatitis, accompanied by exocrine insufficiency. Reception time - 1-1.5 months;
    at the rate of 50-100 mg per 1 kg of body weight 2-3 times a day for carnitine deficiency. Course - 3-4 months
For children, the drug is prescribed as an additive to sweet dishes (jelly, compote, juices).
    For children under 3 years of age, the dosage regimen is set individually. Children from 3 to 6 years old - in a single dose of 100 mg (5 drops) 2-3 times / day, the daily dose is 200-300 mg (11-16 drops). The course of treatment is 1 month. Contraindications

Side effects
