Release form and composition

Zalain is available in the following dosage forms:
    Vaginal suppositories: oval, white, waxy (1 pc. In blisters, 1 blister in a cardboard box).
1 suppository contains:
    Active ingredient: sertaconazole nitrate - 0.3 g;
    Auxiliary components: suppository - 1.305 g, witepsol - 1.305 g, anhydrous colloidal silicon dioxide - 0.09 g.

Pharmacodynamics

Sertaconazole belongs to benzothiophene and imidazole derivatives and is characterized by a wide spectrum of action against pathogens of infectious diseases of the skin and mucous membranes (gram-positive strains of strepto- and staphylococci), dermatophytes (Microsporum and Trichophyton) and pathogenic fungi (Pityrosporum spp. , Candida albicans). The drug exhibits fungicidal and fungistatic effects when used in recommended doses.
