    10 mg sodium saccharinate;
    35 mg lemon flavor.
100 g of granules contain:
    39.9 g citric acid;
    32.25 g of potassium hydrogen carbonate;
    27.85 g sodium citrate.
Note: The kit with Blemaren in the form of granules includes an indicator paper that determines the acidity of urine, a control calendar and a measuring spoon.

Pharmacological properties

Blemaren is characterized by nephrolitholytic action, and is also able to alkalize urine.

Pharmacodynamics

The drug dissolves and prevents the formation of uric acid stones by alkalizing urine, its pH rises to 6.6-6.8. At this pH value, the dissolution of uric acid salts is significantly enhanced. Also, Blemaren reduces the excretion of calcium from the body, inhibits the formation of crystals and increases the solubility of calcium oxalate in the urine, which prevents the appearance of calcium oxalate stones.

Pharmacokinetics

The bioavailability of the product is about 100%. The drug is almost completely excreted through the kidneys.

Indications for use

According to the instructions, the drug is prescribed for:
    Dissolution of mixed uric acid-oxalate stones (in cases of oxalate content less than 25%);
    Dissolution of calcium oxalate and uric acid stones, as well as to prevent their formation;
    Symptomatic therapy of skin porphyria;
    Alkalinization of urine in patients receiving cytostatics or drugs that increase the excretion of uric acid.

Contraindications

The use of the drug is contraindicated in:
    Metabolic alkalosis;
    Chronic and acute renal failure;
    Urinary tract infections caused by microorganisms that break down urea;
    The need to comply with a strict salt-free diet;
    The acidity (pH) of urine is above 7;
    Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Instructions for use of Blemaren: method and dosage

The preparation in the form of granular powder or tablets should be dissolved in 200 ml of tea, fruit juice or alkaline mineral water before ingestion. The daily dosage of Blemaren (2-6 tablets or measuring spoons, which corresponds to 6-18 g of the drug) is evenly distributed throughout the day and taken after meals.
With a properly selected dose, urine pH during the day is in the range:
    6.2-7.0 - to dissolve uric acid stones;
    7.5-8.5 - to dissolve cystine stones;
    7.2-7.5 - for the treatment of porphyria;
    At least 7.0 - when treated with cytostatics.
If the value of urine acidity is below the specified value, the dosage should be increased, if it is higher, it should be reduced. The duration of therapy is usually 4-6 months.
Monitoring the effectiveness of Blemaren using indicator paper should be carried out before taking each single dose three times a day. In case of cystine stones and the treatment of porphyria, to control the effectiveness, it is necessary to use a special indicator paper with a pH value of 7.2-9.7.

Side effects

    Metabolic alkalosis;
    Edema (sodium retention);
    Allergic reactions;
    Dyspepsia.

Overdose

There is no information on confirmed cases of Blemaren's overdose.

Special instructions

Blemaren can be used against the background of chronic renal failure, which is not accompanied by a retention of potassium ions.
The drug can be taken by patients with diabetes mellitus.
During the use of Blemaren, it is necessary to limit the intake of foods rich in purine bases and proteins, and you should also drink at least 1.5-2 liters of liquid.
It is not recommended to exceed the daily dose when dissolving uric acid stones, since with an increase in the acidity of urine above 7.0, phosphates precipitate on uric acid crystals, which complicates their further dissolution.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and complex mechanisms

Admission Blemaren does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and does not reduce the concentration of attention required when working with complex and moving mechanisms.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

There are currently no clinically confirmed data obtained during relevant experimental studies of the use of the drug in women during pregnancy and lactation. Therefore, Blemaren's reception by patients of this category is possible only on strict indications and after consulting a doctor.

For violations of liver function

With liver dysfunctions, the average daily dose varies from 6 to 18 g. It is evenly distributed throughout the day, taking the drug strictly after meals. The selection of the dose is considered correct if the pH of the urine during the day is approximately 7.2-7.5 (in the treatment of porphyria).

Drug interactions

The combination of Blemaren with drugs that include aluminum and citrates can enhance the absorption of aluminum, so the interval between taking such drugs should be at least 2 hours.
The simultaneous use of Blemaren with cardiac glycosides can weaken the effect of the latter due to the presence of potassium salts in the preparation. Some drugs that lower blood pressure (angiotensin-converting enzyme blockers, potassium-sparing diuretics, aldosterone antagonists), as well as analgesics and anti-inflammatory nonsteroidal drugs can slow down the excretion of potassium, therefore, their simultaneous administration with Blemaren is possible only after consultation with a specialist.

Terms and conditions of storage

Keep out of the reach of children, at a temperature not exceeding 25 ° C.
Effervescent tablets have a shelf life of 4 years, granules - 3 years.

Reviews

According to reviews, Blemaren is often used in clinical practice. According to patients, it demonstrates the greatest efficiency in cases where the treatment regimen, individually selected by the doctor, is strictly observed.
Many patients report that they have been prescribed a medication to treat kidney stones due to a change in urine pH towards acidity. The course of treatment helped them almost completely get rid of this disease.
The use of the drug gives good results in the treatment of gout. However, it is not recommended to self-medicate, only after a treatment regimen correctly selected with the help of a doctor is a significant improvement in the condition of such patients observed.
Discussions on Blemaren's treatment regimens, which include taking the drug and drinking mineral water, are often found on the forums. This therapy helps to normalize urine pH and restore health.
