Pharmacodynamics

Afalaza is a complex drug for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia, has anti-dysuric and anti-inflammatory effects. Its therapeutic effect is due to the properties of the active substances, which are affinity purified antibodies to endothelial NO-synthase (nitric oxide synthase) and antibodies to prostate-specific antigen (PSA).
The modifying effect of antibodies to PSA on the functional activity of endogenous PSA, modified as a result of benign prostatic hyperplasia, is accompanied by an increase in its regulatory effect on metabolic and functional processes in the prostate tissue. In prostate adenoma, antibodies to PSA have both preventive and therapeutic effects.
The action of affinity purified antibodies to endothelial NO-synthase is aimed at increasing the blood flow rate in the vessels of the prostate gland and penis. In addition, they have a protective effect against the endothelium, thereby helping to reduce vascular reactivity and vascular spasm, as well as improving peripheral microcirculation.
The combination of two antibodies in Afalaza is accompanied by a synergistic effect. Due to the endothelioprotective effect and improved vascularization, antibodies to endothelial NO synthase enhance the anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative activity of antibodies to PSA. Along with this, it is believed that the synergistic effect is due to nonspecific mechanisms for enhancing intracellular signal transduction by antibodies to endothelial NO synthase.
The use of the drug in prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) helps to reduce dysuric disorders and erectile dysfunction, has a vegetative stabilizing effect, improving the quality of life of patients. The results of experimental studies confirm the presence of a pronounced anti-edematous and anti-inflammatory effect of the drug.
While taking the drug, urodynamic indicators such as a decrease in the volume of residual urine and an increase in the maximum rate of its excretion are improved. The functional state of the lower urinary tract, prostate and PSA level is normalized. In some cases, the action of the drug promotes a moderate decrease in the volume of the prostate gland, reduction of dysuric disorders. The combination of antibodies improves the quantitative and qualitative spermatological parameters. There is an increase in mobility and sperm count, the concentration of sex hormones. The viscosity of the seminal fluid decreases, the secretion of the prostate gland is normalized. In patients who have undergone surgery for BPH, the drug activates regenerative-reparative processes, reduces the risk of postoperative complications.
