Composition 1 tablet - active substances:
Magaldrate (aluminum magnesium hydroxide sulfate) - 400 or 800 mg,
    simethicone - 20 or 40 mg.

pharmachologic effect

The therapeutic effect of Antareit chewable tablets is determined by the action of the active substances in the composition. The drug is characterized by pronounced antacid, enveloping, absorbent and carminative properties.
Simethicone is a pharmacologically inert compound that allows you to get rid of the characteristic manifestations of flatulence - colic in the intestine and bloating. The substance destroys the resulting gas bubbles by reducing their surface tension. Due to this, the released gases are partially absorbed by the intestinal wall, and partially are removed to the outside.
Magaldrat is an aluminum-magnesium salt (hydroxide sulfate). It reacts with free hydrochloric acid of the gastric environment with the formation of neutral chloride salts. The action of the substance does not provoke a secondary increase in the secretory activity of the gastric glands.
It also forms a protective layer on the walls of the organ, preventing the formation of erosion and ulceration under the influence of HCl. Aluminum has the ability to bind bile acids and reduce pepsin activity.
The absorption of magnesium and aluminum salts is very slight. Since they do not enter the bloodstream, they do not have a systemic effect, and they do not affect the electrolyte balance. If the functional activity of the kidneys is normal, then the level of trace elements in the blood does not change.
Their concentration may increase to toxic indicators against the background of impaired excretion in chronic renal failure. Simethicone is also not absorbed in the digestive tract, does not form metabolites, and is excreted unchanged with intestinal contents.
