VitA-POS is a keratoprotective lubricating agent used in ophthalmology to protect and moisturize the cornea, relieve discomfort and improve the condition of the tear film.

Release form and composition

The drug is produced in the form of an ophthalmic lubricating agent: sterile, oily (5 g in an aluminum tube, 1 tube in a cardboard box).
Composition of 1 g of the product:
    active substance: vitamin-A-palmitate - 250 international units (IU);
    additional substances: liquid paraffin, white petrolatum, lanolin, light liquid paraffin.

Pharmacodynamics

VitA-POS ophthalmic lubricant is a medicine intended to be placed in the conjunctival sac and containing vitamin A (1 g of the product contains 250 IU of retinol palmitate).
Vitami A, the active ingredient of the drug, due to which it has a delicate oily consistency, is a natural component of the tear film. The delicate ointment texture of the product contributes to a high degree of mixing with the natural tear fluid, which in turn ensures good tolerability of the drug.
The use of a lubricant helps to quickly relieve the subjective symptoms of discomfort in the eyes (foreign body sensation, dryness, redness). After the introduction of VitA-POS, it is evenly distributed and retained for a long time on the cornea and conjunctiva (anterior surface of the eye), reliably protecting them from drying out by stabilizing the state of the tear film.

Indications for use

According to the instructions, VitA-POS is recommended to be used to protect the surface of the eyes and improve the condition of the tear film, as well as to eliminate the sensation of burning, dryness, foreign body in the eyes, including those caused by the following reasons:
    intense visual stress, for example, when it is necessary to drive vehicles at night, when working with a camera / computer for a long time, watching television for too long, with prolonged and continuous wearing of contact lenses;
    climatic factors such as intense solar radiation, cold, wind, air-conditioned air in a car / plane, air polluted with cigarette smoke, dust, etc.

Contraindications

The drug is contraindicated for use in the presence of hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Instructions for use of VitA-POS: method and dosage

The eye ointment should be injected into the conjunctival sac. A strip of ophthalmic agent 1 cm long should be applied 1-3 times a day. The frequency of administration is determined individually, according to the recommendations of a specialist, taking into account the patient's lifestyle and his feelings. The most effective application is before bedtime.
Procedure: you should unscrew the protective cap of the tube, tilt your head back a little and slightly pull the lower eyelid down, then, gently pressing on the tube (when squeezing out the tool, the tube should not be broken or folded), insert a 1 cm strip of the drug into the conjunctival sac and slowly close eyes. After completing the procedure, the tube must be carefully closed.
The duration of using VitA-POS has no restrictions.
In the case when, after starting to use the drug for several days, it is not possible to remove the previously noted symptoms of discomfort, you should consult an ophthalmologist.
Lubricant is not recommended for use while wearing contact lenses! The introduction of the drug should be done after removing the lenses, at night.

Special instructions

Against the background of the use of the drug, there may be a slight deterioration in visual acuity, as a result of which it is recommended to use VitA-POS eye ointment before bedtime.
It is necessary to beware of touching the tip of the open tube to the skin, eyes, and other surfaces.
The preparation contains no preservatives.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and complex mechanisms

Due to the fact that after the introduction of VitA-POS, a short-term impairment of visual acuity is possible, it is not recommended to use it immediately before driving a vehicle and performing work related to the control of other complex mechanisms.

Drug interactions

The tool should not be used concurrently with other ophthalmic drugs. If a combined treatment is required, VitA-POS is recommended to be applied 30 minutes after the introduction of another agent.
