Description and release form

The drug is available in the form of solid capsules of a cylindrical shape with a yellow gelatin shell. Inside is a yellow powder, sometimes with a green tint. In its composition allowed heterogeneity, which easily disintegrate when pressed.

Composition

The capsule shell includes gelatin and the following dyes (the E-code of the food additive is indicated in parentheses):
    Titanium dioxide (E171);
    Orange yellow (Е110);
    Quinoline yellow (E104).
The main component of troxevasin is troxerutin. Each capsule contains 300 mg of this substance. Additionally, the powder contains milk sugar monohydrate (lactose) and magnesium salt of stearic acid.

Indications

According to the instructions for use of Troxevasin capsules, the drug is prescribed in the following cases:
    CVI (chronic venous insufficiency, characterized by impaired blood flow in the veins);
    Trophic ulcers (for a long time, no inflammatory wounds on the skin caused by impaired blood circulation in case of varicose veins or diabetes mellitus);
    Hemorrhoids (manifested by pain and itching in the anus, discharge of exudate from it, as well as blood after a bowel movement);
    Venous insufficiency and hemorrhoids caused by pregnancy (not earlier than the second trimester);
    Post-phlebitic syndrome (edema and pain in the lower limbs associated with varicose deep veins).
Troxevasin is also prescribed in the complex treatment of angiopathy in patients suffering from atherosclerosis, arterial hypertension or diabetes mellitus. How acts the drug

Troxevasin has angioprotective and venotonic effects. The effect of the drug applies only to the veins and capillaries. The active ingredient shrinks the pores between the endothelial cells, thereby reducing the permeability of the walls of blood vessels.
Troxerutin, exhibiting antioxidant properties, protects adrenaline, ascorbic and hyaluronic acid from oxidation. As a result, the walls of blood vessels are strengthened, their fragility is prevented, the venous outflow is improved.

Mode of application

Capsules are swallowed whole with meals, drinking plenty of water. When chewing or removing the gelatinous shell, the therapeutic effect is reduced.
The instruction provides for three treatment regimens:
    Scheme number 1. The first 2 weeks take 3 capsules three times a day (900 mg per day). Then the reception is stopped, and the therapeutic effect will be maintained for four weeks;

Overdose
