This drug significantly affects the permeability of small vessels, which inhibits the development of tissue edema, and also eliminates itching.

Release form and composition

In pharmacies sold Diazolin in the form of tablets or pills. On each tablet of white color, risk and chamfer are applied. The mass of each tablet is 10 mg. Drops or tablets are arranged in a contoured cellular packaging.
Presented on sale in the form of dragees and tablets, Diazolin in its composition has the following substances:
    Mebhydrolin or mebhydroline;
    histamine receptors blockers.
Auxiliary substances are lactose monohydride, microcrystalline cellulose, aerosil, potato starch, magnesium stearate.

Pharmacological effect

The active component of diazolin (mebhydrolin) has a pronounced antiallergic effect and, by blocking H1-histamine receptors, helps to reduce swelling of the mucous membranes.
    A distinctive feature of Diazolin compared with antihistamine drugs of the first generation is the absence of pronounced hypnotic and sedative effects. At the same time, adult and children Diazolin effectively affect the smooth muscles of the uterus, bronchi and intestines, as well as reduce the severity of increased vascular permeability and lower blood pressure.
The action of Diazolin, according to the instructions, is observed half an hour after ingestion, and its duration can reach two days.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

Due to the fact that Diazolin crosses the placental barrier, it is not recommended to take it during pregnancy, especially in its first 12 weeks. In the future, it is allowed to take Diazolin in short courses - no longer than 3-5 days. And although Diazolin is considered to be a relatively safe drug, for all the time of its use there has not been accumulated enough data by which one can judge its absolute harmlessness to the fetus.
The same applies to the reception of diazolin during lactation - the drug easily penetrates into breast milk.

Instructions for use

The instructions for use indicate that taking diazolin tablets / dragees is recommended during or after a meal, without chewing and drinking plenty of non-carbonated water.
Depending on the severity of the disease, the daily dose may be:
    For adults and children over 10 years old - from 100 to 300 mg (100 mg 1-3 times a day);

Reviews

We picked up some reviews of people about the drug Diazolin:
Nona

    Diazolin is considered the most effective and harmless drug against allergies. Any redness, sneezing and even a small cough of an allergic nature removes this drug rather quickly. I always give the child when the flowering begins on the street - for prevention. Or when I give the child any medications to avoid allergies.
Larisa

I was somehow treated for allergy to oranges with diazolin. Took a week, three times a day, one tablet. And then for some reason my feces became almost black. I did not drink any more drugs. Why such a reaction to diazolin do not know. I have a mild gastritis, but this is not a very serious disease. In contraindications about gastritis, not a word is said, but I have no ulcers. The stomach also does not hurt at all, except that the color makes me worried.

Storage conditions and shelf life

Keep diazolin in a dry place in the absence of light. Storage temperature - no more than 25 degrees.
