When the pathologies of the musculoskeletal system and some other diseases nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs with a broad spectrum of action are prescribed.
Such drugs relieve inflammation of any complexity, stop pain (including dental and headache), improve the general well-being of the patient.
Each of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs has its own indications and contraindications for use, therefore the doctor must be engaged in the choice of medication.
For pain and inflammation, aceclofenac may be prescribed. In particular, the number of such drugs is Alental.

pharmachologic effect

Alental has analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects.
Aceclofenac contained in it inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins and influences the pathogenesis of inflammation, the appearance of fever and pain.
In rheumatic diseases, the analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects of aceclofenac provide a significant reduction in the intensity of pain, swelling of the joints and morning stiffness.
The result is an improvement in the functional state of the patient.

Indications for use

Alental is prescribed for:
    relief of pain and inflammation in people with rheumatic soft tissue lesions, scapulohumeral periarthritis, toothache, lumbago;
symptomatic treatment of ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthrosis, rheumatoid arthritis.
The drug is used as part of symptomatic treatment and does not affect the progression of the disease. Its task is to reduce inflammation and pain at the time of use.

Method of use, dosage

Alental take inside. The tablet is completely swallowed, drinking plenty of liquid. The standard dosage for adults is 200 mg per day (1 tablet of 100 mg in the morning and 1 tablet of 100 mg in the evening).
Prolonged use of the medication is not recommended. The course of therapy is prescribed by a specialist individually.

Release form, composition

The film coating of the tablets is white or close to white. Form - round and biconvex. If you cut the tablet in half, inside you can see the white or almost white core.
The active ingredient in Alental is aceclofenac at a rate of 100 mg. Additional components of the drug are substances such as sodium croscarmellose, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium stearyl fumarate and povidone K-30.
The drug is sold in blister packs or plastic jars, placed in cardboard packs.

Interaction with other drugs

Between the use of Alental and other drugs (including nutritional supplements), an interval of at least 1 hour should be observed.
The simultaneous use of drugs for HRT (progestin + estrogen) and alendronic acid contributes to a greater increase in bone mass.
The combined (but not simultaneous) administration of alendronic acid and medications for HRT (Aprogestin + estrogen) is not accompanied by a change in the tolerability and safety of each drug.
The absorption of alendronic acid is reduced when taking antacids and calcium preparations in parallel.
It is possible to use alendronic acid with NSAIDs, but with caution.
Ranitidine increases the bioavailability of Alental twice. In clinical studies, the incidence of adverse reactions from the gastrointestinal tract in people taking drugs with acetylsalicylic acid and more than 10 mg alendronate per day increased.

Special instructions

Affect on the ability to drive vehicles and control mechanisms

During treatment, dizziness and other adverse reactions may occur, reducing the speed of psychomotor reactions and concentration. Therefore, it is better to refuse to manage transport and perform potentially dangerous work during therapy.

Use in the elderly

Prescribing medication to older people should be with caution. In old age, taking NSAIDs can cause adverse reactions (especially perforation of the gastrointestinal tract and bleeding) and even death. Also, older people are more likely to suffer from diseases of the liver, kidneys, heart and blood vessels.

Pediatric use

The drug is not prescribed to persons under 18 years of age.

In case of impaired renal function

NSAIDs can lead to a dose-related decrease in the formation of prostaglandins and acute renal failure. You also need to be careful when prescribing Alental with moderate or mild impairment of renal function and other conditions in which there is a delay in the body fluid.
Patients with an increased risk of hypovolemia or taking diuretics also need to be careful. Treatment should begin with the minimum effective dose, ensuring regular monitoring of renal function. Usually, the side effects associated with the kidneys disappear on their own after cessation of therapy.

With abnormal liver function

It is necessary to appoint Alental with moderate or mild hepatic impairment with caution.
It is necessary to stop taking aceclofenac, if changes in the indicators of hepatic function worsen or persist, symptoms of liver disease or other manifestations occur (rash, eosinophilia).
It is important to remember that hepatitis can develop without prodromal symptoms.
The use of NSAIDs in people with hepatic porphyria is dangerous, because it can provoke an attack.
People who use NSAIDs for a long time should be supervised by specialists. In particular, physicians should perform a general blood test, functional renal and hepatic tests.
